Deer urine prank makes students ill

CHURCH HILL, Tenn. (AP) - Officials are searching for a person who poured deer urine into an air-conditioning unit as a prank and made about a dozen students ill at an East Tennessee high school.

 

The Church Hill Fire Department was called to Volunteer High School on Monday after the odor became overpowering in one classroom.

 

Paramedics treated students who complained of headache and nausea. They recovered after getting some fresh air. Firefighters shut down the air-conditioning units near the special education room to discover the source.

 

Police Chief Mark Johnson said the prank could result in a vandalism charge. Bottled deer urine is used to attract the animals for hunting.

this kinda reminds me what happened in my jr high about 11 years ago. some 8th graders decided it would be funny to pour bleach and some other chemical down one of the toilets before classes started. about 30 minutes in, teaches, students and staff were all getting sick which prompted a evacuation of the school. 7th graders had to walk a half mile trip to the nearest school, while the 8th graders could go to the church next door. we had to stay out of the school probably 4 hours and had 15 minute classes for the rest of the day. 75% of the school didn't return until 2 days after the incident. turns out it was small prank that started off as a dare by a couple of 8th graders. 1 was suspended for half the school year, the other expelled.

When I was in middle school someone would put smoke bombs in the vents. Every Monday for half a year. No one ever found out who it was.

 

In high school, we used to try to try to hotbox the fallout shelter.
