Reverse Speech

Reverse speech is a relatively new science which explores what we sometimes are really saying when we "mis-speak", you know, those time's when you are talking and you seem to have stuttered or said something strange that even you don't understand?

 

Have a reversible audio recorder on when that happens then play the tape backwards and you may be surprised with what you hear. I have heard dozens of examples of this, I even recorded my self and ran the tape backwards manually and have been amazed at what I heard.

 

It has been speculated that this is how babies learn to speak, by listening to what the parents say backwards and in fact, many babies babbles have been recorded and played backwards and found to have real speech imbedded with-in.

What I find most astonishing is how the thing said in reverse directly relates to what is was originally said. That is the most compelling evidence to me.

I haven't clicked the links to see what reverse speech is all about. I find myself somewhat skeptical of it, although I don't disregard it completely. I tend to think that things are often just coincidences, and that we as humans like to think things are more than what they are to satisfy our curiosities.
