Vic 17 Posted February 20, 2007 Though a Star Trek fan of long standing and mum on possible negotiations, the actor hopes there will be more than ethnicity to the character in upcoming film. http://www.trektoday.com/news/200207_01.shtml
Kor37 9 Posted February 20, 2007 If this guy was such a big Trek fan as he says, then he should know that Scotty as a young man was not overweight and didn't have a mustache!
LoveMalePecs1 0 Posted February 21, 2007 (edited) During the original series he was slim only as of ST:TMP-ST:TUC and a cameo in Generations at the start of the film did he have that mustache. Edited February 21, 2007 by LoveMalePecs1
Vulcan_lover 1 Posted February 21, 2007 TOS was all about over doing stereotypes. Scotty was so Scottish it was ridiculous and Chekov was almost too Russian to function. It was part of the charm of the old series. I wonder if they are going to continue that with this new movie.

Then he's all surprised in ST II when he finds out he has a son. I personally love the job Doohan did in TOS. He outdrank everyone on board, especially in the episode "By Any Other Name". This person obviously isn't a true fan, otherwise, he would know Doohan created the Scottish accent for the show.
