Kor37 9 Posted January 17, 2007 Hubby gets suicide leap rap January 16, 2007 A HUSBAND drove his wife 40 miles to help her leap 100ft to her death, a jury heard yesterday. The action by civil servant David Stephenson, 49, was “as good as handing her a loaded gun”, Doncaster court was told. The mum of two, 48, who was depressed caring for her mum, jumped off a viaduct in Sprotbrough, Yorks. She had previously taken an overdose. Her husband walked to where she fell while phoning for help — and her voice was heard as she lay dying. Stephenson, of Shipley, West Yorks, denies assisting her suicide. Trial continues.
