A l t e r E g o 9 Posted August 8, 2003 After 41 years of service the USS CONSTELLATION was Decommissioned today at 11:16 am.The decommissioning service's were held in San Diego California. Soon "Connie" as she was affectionately called will be taken to Seattle for mothballing. Next year Connies replacment; the USS Ronald Reagan, docks in it's birth at NAS North Island to begin it's tour of duty for the USN. The USS Ronald Reagan... When I am not watching Star Trek or reading about the Apollo program you can many times find me reading books about President Reagan. I've read his autobiography about 10 times in the past 12 years. I haven't seen the USS Ronald Reagan since it's completion but I was lucky enough to see it as it's keel was being laid back in 1998 (I think it was 98).
