Top 45 Oxymorons

Here you will find the top 45 oxymorons.

An oxymoron is a combination of two words that are completely opposite in meaning. In the dictionary you'll find: "A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist."

Actually, I already knew about the Microsoft Works one long before this.

Personally, a favourite of mine's: underground pop-culture.

Actually, "airline food" is not really an oxymoron. There is nothing inherent about the definitions of "airline" and "food" that contradict each other as in, for example, "living dead" or "soft rock"

As for Microsoft Works - get over it already! Microsoft Works hasn't been a major product line since Microsoft Office came out. I don't know anyone who still uses it. Anyway, for $39.95 for the most advanced version what do you really expect it ti do?

But there was one oxymoron conspicuous by its absence from this list, especially for a group like this: SCIENCE FICTION.

I liked the one about Goverment organizations. There is another one I laugh at it's 'Wake up dead'.

Why is that funny? :yahoo: :P My dear friend Nathan died Feb '06 by that.

Seriously? He woke up while he was dead? Was he a zombie or something?
