Why Don't We see Kirk's pain in ST V

I think its because we all saw it when David Died in ST 3, but are there any other theories of why they didnt show it

I don't think contracting herpes is compatible with Trek. :)

Sybok seemed to only 'help' those that really wanted to deal with their pain.

Only exceptions were when he 'needed' to, EX: Sulu, Uhuru- to get them on his Team to get the Enterprise.

 

McCoy seemed willing to want to 'put his pain' to rest. Spock said he had nothing to hide. By the time Kirk came round, Sybok had the Starship under his dominion anyway; by then there was little to be gained 'forcing' Kirk to face his pain....just my 2 cents
