Validus 0 Posted October 16, 2005 Well I just started Dune by Frank Herbert I'm about 1/2 way through and I am really enjoying it so far. Has anyone else read this great book? 357709[/snapback] Yes. Dune has been called the greatest science fiction novel ever written. I'm not sure that I agree. I think that Dune was diminished by inferior sequals. However, I would easily place it alongside such seminal works as Ringworld (Larry Nivin), 2001: A Space Odyssey (Arthur C. Clarke) and the Foundation series (Asimov). What do you think about Frank Herbert's views on religion in the novel?
LoveMalePecs1 0 Posted October 17, 2005 I have the novel based on the film ("Dune")but I found the mini-series on t.v ("Dune"-"Children Of Dune")to be probably closer to the books and better than the film soon as (Dune mini -series is on DVD already) and (Children Of Dune mini-series is on DVD )then i'll buy them together. After all the Spice must flow. B) :P :P :P
