Yillara Skye 1 Posted October 9, 2005 (edited) Had to post this, on the grounds of a Star Trek reference: Today's DiscussionToday's Discussion Posted: October 9, 2005 5:31 p.m. HURRICANE VINCE HEADS FOR EUROPE, NORTHEAST/MIDATLANTIC: MORE TROPICAL TROUBLE MAKERS LURKING. Hurricane Vince has developped north of the Canary Islands. This is a "Star Trek" storm, out of this world with its development and its boldly going where no storm has gone before. Actually a couple of storms ( former hurricanes) have hit the Iberian peninsula, where this is headed tomorrow and Tuesday but not after developing near the Canary Island. This is a classic case of warm core system within a choler environment, but it is over water that is under the normal threshold for storms. This simply limits the storm to how strong it can develop and its about there now, but a major threat to the areas further northeast and a big rainmaker for western europe. Meanwhile, it doesnt get any more complex in the east. While everyone and his mother tracked Tammy's low level circulation that simply was absorbed by a low in the northern gulf, the mid level part of it took off broke the eastern drought this weekend. But it was a one two punch as another feature, which I dubbed son of Tammy roared up the east coast yesterday with beachfront gales from the Carolinas to Long Island and another swath of heavy rain.Elverson Pa by the way lead the way with a foot of rain. .....
