13 February. In 1987 Colin Braggs was arrested when he tried to break into a police car in Frome, Somerset. Unfortunately for him, there were two policemen inside; he couldn't see them as the windows were misted up. Criminal blunders can offer great amusement. In 1971 Raymond Snyder tried to cash a stolen payroll in Chicago. As the cheque was blank, he made it out to Miles F. Hulm, a name taken at random from the telephone directory. The bank clerk to whom he handed the cheque happened to be Mrs Miles F. Hulm. She sounded a silent alarm and police took Snyder away.
