US Civil War Re-enacting

Having just joined a unit, I was wondering if anyone else takes part in this uniqe, interesting, and fun hobby.

I always wanted to join the Roundheads, and Royalists re-enactment when I was in England but never got around to it. It is a big thing over there, it seemed so much fun.

I have always wanted to do a re-enactment of a Civil War battle,and as a proud southerner I would of course be fighting on the Confederate side!

I have never been in any, but have seen a few, and also have watched specials on how they make them look so real - like the exploding buttons.
