Some may disagree but by the end of the series I considered Jake and Nog regular characters so I'm including them in this answer.

 

A "REGULAR" character is one that appears on the opening credit sequence according to the chapter concerning DS9's credits in the book "The Making Of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" which is an official Paramount approved publication.

 

Cirroc Lofton (Jake) was included in the opening credits, but Aron Eisenberg (Nog)was not.

 

So indeed while Jake Sisko was officially considered a regular, Nog is catagorised as a "RECURRING" character.

 

So technically you are incorrect to include Nog as a regular character.

There are actually no interpretations. What I said was absolutely correct.

 

You indeed did ask the question, but you've accepted one answer that is incorrect.

It doesn't really matter, because if I had included Nog in the answer, I would have been incorrect. So even if I won that point, it wouldn't be right.
