Walking octopi

Recommended Posts

I just realized that it would be nice to have a direct link to an article to go along with these video clips. As I got these off of another site, I saw no such link. Sorry.

I would've liked to know about this behavior.

Wait... I found one...

Walking octopi

And I learned that the octopus in the first clip is a Octopus marginatus. The one in the second video is Octopus aculeatus.

They probably both are.

The first one I think is making itself look bigger to escape a predator.

I bet if octopi saw us, they would find us odd and weird.

They're more afraid of us

Well if it's a giant octopus then maybe it will get too close for comfort, out of curiosity, and some have even suffocated a few divers but it's only in exploration.

I don't think animals like that can get bored since all they do is hunt, eat and hide all day long

Anyway it certainly wasn't out of attack.

Maybe they thought the people were something to hunt and eat, and once they realized that they were wrong, it was a bit too late.
