HRH The KING 0 Posted February 5, 2005 (edited) It means only a staunch conservative like Nixon could go to a Communist land ideologically completely opposite to American values. It was used by Spock to say to Kirk that only someone like Kirk who hated Klingons could be sent to start the peace process with them. What an AWESOME movie that was. Superb story, terrific direction and very poignant and dignified acting from the cast. A perfect example of how Trek should be used to examine real world issues and the "sign off" at the end was simply wonderful. Ahhhh, those were the days........
