Jack_Bauer 1 Posted January 22, 2005 Alright, so my real motivation for this post is to reach 1000 and become a commodore. But I still think this is trivia worth sharing. Click For Spoiler Season 3 of Enterprise is the only season of Star Trek in which no Klingons appear. The name Hoshi means Star. Out of all the main Xindi characters, the Xindi-Humanoid (played by Tucker Smallwood) was the only one whose real name we never learned Ben Browder was considered for the role of Major Hayes. In the opening credits is a shot of the Mars Pathfinder Probe's Sojourner Rover on the Martian Surface. This is not a special effects shot: This was the first science fiction film or television series to use footage actually taken on the surface of another planet. Malcolm Reed was named for a minor character in C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower books. Both characters were English and came from families that had generations of career Navy men, although Malcolm Reed in Enterprise was the first to join Starfleet. Clint Howard has guest starred as aliens in both the first Star Trek series and Enterprise. Becoming the first actor to do so. "Star Trek" (1966) playing "Balok" in episode: "Corbomite Maneuver, The" (episode # 1.10) 11/10/1966 and "Enterprise" (2001) playing "Muk" in episode: "Acquisition" (episode # 1.19) 3/27/2002 A small statue of a man pointing up is often seen in Archer's quarters, and in the episode "Twilight" is even used as a weapon. This statue is of Warp Drive creator Zephram Cochrane, and appears to be a miniature version of a statue described in Star Trek: First Contact (1996). One of the augments in the episode "Borderlands" is named Persis. This is a tribute to Persis Khambatta who played Lt. Ilia in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979). Episode 3.9, "North Star", originally broadcast in the US on 12 November 2003, was the first episode of any Star Trek series to carry a TV-14 rating (for violence.)
