Going to LAS VEGAS! I could use some suggestions.

Recommended Posts

I am so excited because I am...

GOING TO LAS VEGAS!!! :wow:  :) :wow:

However I will only be there for one full day, and I will be there from 11AM to 11PM. So, if you have gone there before, do you have any suggestions for what I should do to get the full Star Trek Experience??? :assimilated:

My advice is to get there as soon as possible and go on both the Klingon and the Borg rides..That's the most important thing to do. You don't want to miss them..The Star Trek museum is on the way to the rides so you can check that out as well..In fact you can't see the museum unless you buy a ticket for the rides if I remember right..Also a must is to eat at Quarks at least once..When I was there I was at Quarks at least 4 or 5 times..I loved it!

I hope you have a great time.. :assimilated:

Ditto on the Klingon Encounter and the Borg 3-D rides. You get one ticket which covers a trip on both of the rides. The food at Quarks is so-so, and is really nothing more than the food you are used to with Trekish names (pizza, quesadillas, ribs, onion rings, etc.) but it is worth going to just so you can say you did it. The drinks, however, are a little exotic and I recommend the Warp Core Breech because they put 5 kinds of rum in it and some dry ice to make it look like smoke. The gift shops have some interesting things to look at but not very much is worth buying. You can get just about everything elsewhere for about the same price, and stay away from the "uniforms". They don't even look real.

Cameras are not allowed on the replica of the bridge, but if you make the arrangements in advance you can have one of the staff photographers take your picture in Picard's chair (as I did in my avitar). They also have a new thing where you can read lines from one of the TOS episodes and have them dub it into the episode so you see yourself talking to, say, Kirk and Spock on the bridge.

You can see the Trek museum without buying a ticket (they just won't let you on the rides) but most people don't.

It may sound like a lot but you can definitely do it all with the 12 hours you have given yourself. If you are seeing other things in Vegas besides the Experience I would also recommend a ride on the new monorail.
