Captain McCary enters the Bridge.

McCary: "Status?"

Deborah: "Everything is normal, sir."

McCary: "Has the new Councillor arrived yet?"

Deborah: "Yes, sir... The Shuttle Craft Leveon just arrived."

McCary: "Oh man. I hope she's not like the last Councillor."

Deborah: "What was wrong with Lastman?"

McCary: "He kept... coming on to me!"

Morris, walks over: "Captain, I'm sure he was just doing his job."

McCary: "It was a pass. He placed his hand on my shoulder. That was a pass!"

 

Just then, Councillor Silana enters the Bridge. She is an El Aurian.

Silana: "Hello, I'm Councillor Silana..."

McCary, walks over and shakes her hand: "Hey... Uhh, so, do you have that extra sense most El Aurian's do?"

Silana: "That extra-sense came only from El Aurians travelling on the SS Lakul who were trapped in the Nexus."

McCary: "No kidding? I thought it was a super power or something."

Silana: "...A superpower?"

McCary: "Uhh, I mean... a genetic ability."

 

Bang!! ...The Tsunami is hit by something, and the entire ship shakes.

Morris: "What was that??"

Deborah, checks: "Scans are picking up a strange organic protoplasm flying with us, off the port bow."

She gets an image of it on screen. The Dark Gue is about the size of a persons fist and bubbles oddly.

McCary: "What is that thing?"

Deborah: "I don't know, Captain, but it left a part of itself on our hull."

She changes the view to an angle of the upper hull of the Tsunami. A circling black residue eats away the tritanium.

Ralph: "That doesn't look so good."

McCary: "All stop."

Ralph: "Aye, sir."

 

The Tsunami stops in space. Following that, the Dark Gue stops and sits in space, watching them.

 

Morris: "It's not doing anything now."

McCary: "Hmm... Commander Morris, Lieutenant Deborah, I want you to find out all you can on that substance on our hull."

Morris: "We're on it."

McCary: "Lieutenant Ralph..."

He walks over to the Helm where Ralph is sitting.

McCary: "...I think it's time to play the staring game..."

Ralph: "Yes, sir!"

He stares hard at the Dark Gue floating in space, on screen.

McCary: "Good job."

McCary enters the Science Lab, where Doctor Tianna and Ensign Jolene are working around a secured sample of the black protoplasm from the hull tragedy.

Tianna: "It's mostly organic based, but we think a modified neural shock along the structural hull could irritate it."

McCary: "...And you think that will stop the deterioration?"

Jolene: "Possibly."

McCary: "Let's give it a try."

 

A shock of energy rides along the upper hull of the Tsunami, vapourizing the substance eating the hole. McCary enters the Bridge.

 

Morris: "Well that did more than we expected."

McCary: "There's nothing we can do about it now, Commander."

Ralph: "Captain! ...The dark blob is heading straight for us."

McCary looks to the side and the back on screen again: "...Alright... fire phasers."

 

Deborah loads the weapons and gets the Tsunami to fire phasers at the small Blob. The Blob stops in midspace, being pushed back in pain. It collects its spilled liquid and tries heading for the Tsunami again.

 

McCary: "...Fire."

 

The Tsunami hits the Blob with phasers again, pushing it back. It shakes the pain off and turns around. It begins to speed out of there.

 

Deborah: "It's retreating."

Morris: "Where?"

Deborah: "On heading of 4-3 mark 9-2."

McCary: "Follow it."

Morris: "Why?"

McCary: "I want to know where it came from..."

The Tsunami speeds through space, chasing after the small Blob. In the distance, a huge plastor of sticky black Blob can be seen... this time a million times bigger.

McCary: "What the hell is that...?"

 

As the Tsunami slows before the enormus erratic substance, the small Blob adds itself. Inside the stretched holes and cracks, a few Starship's can be seen, stuck.

 

Morris: "It's like some huge playdough explosion."

Ralph: "Maybe it's a really big Changeling?"

Deborah, scans: "No... not even close."

The viewscreen clicks to a closer view of one of the Starship's stuck by it.

McCary: "...That's the Roltekk, a Cardassian Ship."

Deborah: "Confirmed."

Morris: "You know them?"

McCary: "Yeah, I got into a few fights with them during the first Cardassian War..."

Deborah: "We're being hailed."

>Krane, clicks on screen: "McCary! How's it going? I thought that was you."

McCary: "Krane! What the hell is going on here?"

>Krane: "I have no clue. All I know, is that I was attacked by one of these small protoplasm creatures and my hull about to be destroyed. When it consumed a good space, the protoplasm laid an egg and more protoplasm erupted from it! ...Before I knew it, I was trapped inside all of it."

Morris: "Keep your lies to yourself, Krane!"

>Krane: "I am not stuck in this over baked explosion for nothing!"

McCary: "Calm down. Now tell me, how did those other Ship's get stuck?"

>Krane: "My section keeps connecting to other arriving sections floating through space that have caught other Starships. There are three more of us in here."

McCary: "Hmm..."

Morris, whispers: "I don't believe him, Captain. Those Cardi's are deceptive at best."

>Krane: "I can hear everything you are saying!"

McCary: "Quiet! The two of you! We have to find a way to release these Ship's."

Deborah: "I'm reading a Ferengi Transport, a Vulcan Starship, and a Turismo Starship."

McCary: "Are thier shields up?"

Deborah, scans: "...No. It looks like most of thier systems are being drained. No one has weapons online, or can transport."

>Krane: "Tell me about it. My sonic shower isn't working, and don't even get me started on the toilet backups."

McCary: "Tianna, is there anyway we can disperse the protoplasm the same way we did when that blob was on our hull?"

Tianna: "I'm not sure, Captain. We could give it a try."

McCary, nods: "...Alright then."

 

The Tsunami aligns itself tactfully before the large masses of protoplasm and fires a shock wave out into space. The wave hits the protoplasm, aggravating it.

Protoplasm: "MMmhhmmm!!"

 

The protoplasm starts shuffling the Starship's around, inside of it, in pain.

 

Deborah is about to fire another wave, holding her finger above the console.

McCary: "Wait!"

 

The Protoplasm clams down, still holding the other Starships.

McCary: "We have to find another way."

Morris: "I agree. Destroying the Cardassian Ship is the best idea."

McCary: "I didn't say that."

Morris: "But you were going to."

McCary: "No I wasn't!"

Morris: "I see..."

McCary: "Alright, I want a meeting in the Briefing Room with all the senoir staff."

Morris: "To plan the destruction of that Cardassian Ship?"

McCary: "No!"

Morris: "Well, we'll see where the conversation leads..."

Everyone meets in the Briefing Room.

Morris: "Are we sure releasing these Ships is a good idea? It's not really our responsibility."

Silana: "We have to help them. We can't just leave them there."

McCary: "I agree."

Ralph: "How are we going to get them out?"

Deborah: "The science team may be on to a way to manipulate the deflector array to emit a kelran field. We think that field will loosen the protplasm on a molecular level."

McCary: "How soon can you get this field operational?"

Deborah: "Three hours at least."

McCary: "Get to work immediately."

Deborah: "Aye, sir."

Ralph: "What the--??"

Ralph looks out the window, at the giant blob in space with all the ships stuck in it. The Roltekk suddenly starts moving around, trying to get free.

Morris: "It's Krane."

McCary, stands: "What the hell is he doing...??"

The Tsunami contacts the Roltekk which is moving around insdie the large black protoplasm.

McCary: "Krane, don't be a fool! You're aggravating the Blob!!"

>Krane: "You can't tell me what to do!"

 

He cuts the screen out, and continues moving his ship around. The protoplasm gets aggravated and begins morphing and moving the Starships inside of it around.

 

McCary: "Damn! He's going to kill himself."

Ralph: "What should we do?"

McCary: "Disable his ship... Deborah, lock phasers onto the Roltekk."

Deborah: "Locked."

McCary: "Fire!"

 

The Tsunami hits the Roltekk, but before they fire again, the Roltekk is released from its hold with the protoplasm. The protoplasm continues to move around aggravated, but this time begins to detach large halfs of itself. Four large Protoplasm identicals float around the main Blob... those four shoot out into space.

 

McCary: "Where are they going?"

Morris: "Where do you think? To get more ships..."

The Senoir Staff meets in the Briefing Room. McCary takes a moment and stands at the head of the table before addressing his crew.

McCary: "We--"

Morris: "--have to stop those giant Blobs before they take on anymore ships?"

McCary: "Yes. Good guess, Commander."

Morris: "Thank you, sir."

 

Everyone gets to thier stations, as the Tsunami jumps to Warp.

McCary: "Helm. Time to intercept Blob?"

Ralph: "15 minutes, sir."

McCary: "Alright. Let's show this Blob who's boss..."

 

The Tsunami drops Warp in the Nitroks Sector. There the giant black Blob approaches a Descenite Starship.

 

Onll: "Captain... there's a giant Blob on an intercept course for us!"

Ehron: "A what?"

Onll: "A giant Blob!"

Ehron: "That's ludicris!"

Onll: "Well, that's how it is."

 

The Blob spits out a smaller Blob that attaches itself to the Descinte's hull. The Tsunami approaches the situation.

Deborah: "It's already began its retrieval procedure."

McCary: "Ms. Deborah, destroy that Blob."

 

The Tsunami launches two photon torpedoes out into space. They pierce the large Blob, causing an explosion of plasma and protoplasm. Liquid blob spills out into space as the large Blob has been destroyed.

McCary: "Good shot, Ms. Deborah."

Silana: "I don't think we're going to get all the Blobs in time. There are three more out there."

McCary: "We have try anyway Councillor. This thing is a threat to Starships throughout this area of space. Protecting us from these threats comes first."

 

While the Captain continues talking, the small Blob on the Descinte's hull spreads strings of itself around the Ship, engulfing it.

 

Ralph: "Uhh, Captain, the other Blob has taken over the Descinte's ship."

McCary looks at this onscreen: "Damn. ...What's the status of thier hull?"

Deborah: "Still in tact."

McCary: "Good. That means it's not an eating kind of Blob."

The Tsunami hails the Descenite ship.

>McCary: "You must send a polaron shockwave along your hull to disable that organism!"

Ehron: "Huh? What? Who are you?"

>McCary: "This is the Federation Starship Tsunami. You must destroy that thing--"

Onll: "Captain, our hull is being compromised! --We're losing strutural integridy!!"

 

The Tsunami positions itself above the the Descenite ship.

McCary: "Ms. Deborah, prepare the modified beam."

Deborah: "Ready, sir."

McCary: "Fire!"

Deborah: "I'm just doing my job."

 

The Tsunami hits the Descnite ship, vapourizing the acidic protoplasm. But the Descnite recieves a dangerous shock, blowing two generators on its side. The Tsunami is hailed.

>Ehron: "What are you doing? You almost destroyed us!!"

McCary: "You don't understand. We destroyed that protoplasm on your hull!"

>Ehron: "Since I have not met you before, I will assume you are telling the truth."

McCary: "There are three more large blobs out there, that have to be stopped."

>Ehron: "Is there anyway we can help? I know that many of your Federation vessels are not out this far."

Deborah: "We could modify thier deflector to emit the same excessive beam."

McCary thinks this over and then nods: "Make it so."

Federation Officers beam over to the Descenite vessel, the Decent, and modifiy thier deflector array.

Onll: "That's some good modify'n."

Tianna: "Thanks!"

 

As soon as they're over they return to the Tsunami. The Tsunami then prepares to go to Warp, along with the Decent.

McCary: "Alright. When you reach one of the Blob's, you must do what it takes to destroy it. We now know they can duplicate themselves."

>Ehron: "Hey, one of them tried having protoplasmic sex with my Ship, you don't have to tell me twice!"

 

Both ships jump to Warp in different directions. But was it too late?? The answer is No.

 

Just then, the Tsunami dropped Warp and approached a large Blob which was sucking on a small Ferengi Trading Post in space.

Nert: "Oooh! It's the Federation!"

A bunch of Ferengi trapped in thier Command Centre, scramble to the Communications Console.

Yoka: "Hail them!"

Juns: "They can help us!"

>McCary: "This is the Federation Starship Tsunami, just sit tight and we'll have this thing out there."

Yoka: "Oh thank you! Thank you! My associate Nert and I are forever grateful!!"

>McCary: "Wait a second... Nert?"

Nert: "Yes. What? Is there something wrong with my name? It's not corny is it?"

>McCary: "Nert who sold illegal Silillian Destroyers to Krane of Cardassia???"

All the Ferengi pause and look at eachother, fearing what this is turning into.

Nert: "Uhh, no! No! That was some other Nert!"

>McCary: "It's you! You sold those Destroyers! You did it in the name of the Federation!"

One of the Ferengi hit's Nert in the head.

Juns: "You moron! Now he will never help us!"

All the Ferengi glance at the console, returning back to there trapped fears.
