master_q 0 Posted September 8, 2004 It all started with an interview with Harry Lang, in which he said that in the upcoming months some big news about the Star Trek gaming world would be coming. Well, it seems that it is here. However, this game won’t be coming out till 2007. Interestingly enough a website first broke the news about this and rumors spread like wildfire. The official StarTrek.com website had images concerning this new game, but they were not on a specific article; they were just uploaded on the site. Somehow this website found these images (example) and linked to them on their site. StarTrek.com then deleted them from the official site. But now the cat is out of the bag and these images that this site found are indeed real. StarTrek.com has now announced that a massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is in the works by Perpetual Entertainment. --------------------------------- For immediate release: PERPETUAL ENTERTAINMENT TO DEVELOP AND PUBLISH STAR TREK® MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE GAME San Francisco, CA -- September 7, 2004 - Perpetual Entertainment, Inc. announced today that it has secured the exclusive worldwide rights from Viacom Consumer Products to develop and publish a massively multiplayer online game based on Paramount Pictures’ Star Trek franchise. A l t e r E g o 9 Posted September 8, 2004 Excellent! I'm not big on gaming but this is good news for the revitalisation of Trek games licensing which had been sorely lax the past few years. Perhaps things are getting back to normal at last.
ussacclaim 0 Posted September 8, 2004 I've never tried one of those things before but I'll check it out in 2007!
