master_q 0 Posted August 7, 2004 On the radio program "Coast To Coast AM," George Noory got to interview the person who runs the website http://www.johntitor.com. I thought it was a really interesting interview. I personally think the idea that is "true" is completely false, but with that said---the story was really interesting. For many reasons it almost brings me back to the good old days when I use to post on a few science forums. This whole deal is about a poster who was under the username "Timetravel_0." He claimed to be a time-traveler from the future. It gained some credibility with some people because he supposedly predicated some things to come... Just check out the link. If you go through some of the person's posts on the site, then you'll get a general idea on the full story. Master Q StarTrek_Master_Q@yahoo.com
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted August 7, 2004 I remember hearing that guy on the show years ago. I thought he wove a pretty convincing tale, his story exactly matches with my idea of how a TT could reveal himself without causing trouble to the timeline (because his story can not be proved or disproved) but yeah it could be a lie. Very interesting though.
master_q 0 Posted August 7, 2004 You make a very good point there. Most go back to the Grandfather Paradox, but over time it seems to have almost completely dissolved away. Schrödinger's cat is a perfect example of how people have driven away from the idea of the "paradox" in the Grandfather Paradox, and other time paradoxes [billiard Ball Paradox, another example]. We are seeing things more loosely in time because of quantum mechanics and superpositions... Master Q StarTrek_Master_Q@yahoo.com
scaleman 0 Posted August 8, 2004 I heard the story myself, and am perplexed by it to be honest. I mean, some elements make sense but then again, i highly doubt our computers would be bad enough to have a catastrophic meltdown in 2000 (unless the timeline had REALLY bad computers). But i still see the possibility of a second civil war, computer failer or not, and as far as a WW3 in the coming years as a result of the civil war? I doubt it, we're important to the world sure, but when we had a collapse of the stock market it didn't create WW2, so i think it's quite possible we can rule that out (not WW3 but the so-called "cause" of it). And then they did go on about the fact he was from a different timeline to begin with, and he also stated we could (although he considered it HIGHLY unlikely) be able to stop these major problems. But only time will tell right?
