ussacclaim 0 Posted July 16, 2004 ok, in his story, he talks about exiting the torpedo shaft, but without a suit. I was under the impression that that would kill a person! Then he says he sees something out of the corner of his eye. Wouldn't his eye freeze over since there in moisture on it? Can anyone shed light on this? This is the only Calhoun book I've ever read so is there something with his species' physiology?
WEAREBORG4102 0 Posted July 16, 2004 I'm saying he's dead already. Your body produces an outward push on your skin called turgor. It pushes against around 2000 pounds/sq. inch. However, in space, there is the absence of that ton of pressure. That means your blood pushes out and causes you to explode.
Turak 0 Posted July 18, 2004 it's been a long time since i've read that, but i'm pretty sure his species has different abilities than humans. After all, it is fiction. And not everyone has to be human, weareborg.
