Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted May 2, 2003 I was just currious, what did everyone think about the Grissom? Did you all notice the Orbeth-class ship at the end of Generations? For those with the ST:FC DVD, watch the Borg battle, when the fleet start destroying the Cube and the Enterprise starts firing... in the 2nd shot of the Enterprise attacking the cube, you can see a tiny Orbeth-class ship in the top right hand corner! Cool, huh?
TransporterMalfunction 1 Posted May 2, 2003 It didn't do too well against the Klingons. Anyway I thought Orbeth ships were purely scentific ships.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted May 2, 2003 They are, but when it comes to the Borg, you need every ship ya got! In DS9 "The Emissary" we saw an Orbeth-class ship explode outside the windows of Sisko's quarters in the Saratoga.

Falcon Redwing 0 Posted May 3, 2003 I'm surprised some of the classes of ships from the first six movies are still in service in the present timeline. Orbeth class, Excelsior class, Miranda class, and theres probably more.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted May 4, 2003 Some ship designs are arround for years like the Mirand and Excelsior classes while others don't last like the Ambassor-class.
A l t e r E g o 9 Posted May 4, 2003 Off topic but interesting, my calendar for May features a picture (Actually, it’s a painting by Steve Burg) depicting a host of escape pods descending on a Class-L planet, in the background, the U.S.S. Leonov can be seen seconds away from a warp-core breach. When was this event ever spoken of in any of the series?
Captain Jean-Luc Picard 1 Posted May 4, 2003 I don't think it was. I have the same callender, and it looks like it was just created for the callender.
