What are your views on the modern British film industry?

Recently we have seen almost a domination with the Hairy (sorry) Harry Potter series and the idealised Richard Curtis romances (Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral), but we have also seen an upsurge in good old British horror with Dog Soldiers and 28 Days Later, the latter of which was directed by Danny Boyle, who also directed the film that put Ewan McGregor on the map...Trainspotting.

Of course there have been some big flops that even I would strain to remember the names of, and a few small films that deserved to do better at the box office, but all things considered what would you say is the state of the British film industry and does its films appeal to a market outside Britain?
