Jack Lord as Felix Leiter

Jack Lord (who played Felix Leiter in Dr. No) was about to reprise the role in Goldfinger, but producer Albert R. Broccoli feared that his portrayal of 007's CIA partner would overshadow the persona of James Bond as the main character. The character part was recast.

 

Do you think the inclusion of Jack Lord as Felix Leiter in both 'Goldfinger', 'Thunderball' and 'Diamond Are Forever' have been an improvement or not so?

By the way, Jack Lord was also considered for the part of Captain Kirk but was rejected as he wanted to be a co-producer of the show as well.

He was awesome. With Felix Leiter played by the same actor in only two movies, it is stupid. He is always different. He was so great in Dr. No.

 

The Goldfinger Leiter sucked. He was so stale and business-like. The one in Thunderball was alright, but don't even get me started on the Diamand are Forever Leiter. Ugh. Terrible. But I did like what's-his-face in Live and Let Die and Licence To Kill. He was pretty good. Next to the one in DAF, the worst one is the guy in The Living Daylights. He is the worst actor ever. Lol.
