Locutusborg 0 Posted April 9, 2004 :o Greetings. I have noticed a lot of posts by "Bondians". So I am sure you all know the name of the actor to first play James Bond. Or do you?
nik 0 Posted April 9, 2004 This sounds like a trick question, but here's all I can think of: Sean Connery, First appeared in Dr. No (I Forget the Date of release) George Lazenby, Only appearance in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) Sean Connery, Back again in Diamonds are Forever (1971, I think) Roger Moore, Fist appeared in Live and Let Die (1973) Timothy Dalton, First appeared in The Living Daylights (1987) Pierce Brosnan, First appeared in Goldeneye (1995)
Guest Ktrek Posted April 9, 2004 Actually the first person to ever play James Bond was an American actor named Barry Nelson. He starred in a TV version of Casino Royale in 1954. The first actor to play a movie version of Bond was David Niven in the comedic version of Casino Royale. Then you have the Bonds mentioned in the above post. Ktrek Barry Nelson is right, but actually Sean Connery was the first on-screen Bond. Dr. No was released in 1962, while Casino Royale was released in 1967. :o
Locutusborg 0 Posted April 9, 2004 :o Kudos to Ktrek. Barry Nelson was the first actor to play the James Bond character. Ian Fleming had sold the rights of the book to television, which is why MGM-UA could not make it into a movie later. Another company purchased the rights to it and made the dismal comedy movie Casino Royale. This was enjoyable. Thank you all. Can't wait for trivia RESISITANCE IS FUTILE
