How do you feel about "re-imaginings"?

 

I enjoy remakes if there's reason to warrant one, but I just don't like re-imagining. If you can't make the original idea work, then I say do something original.

Could you possibly define re-imagining for those of us who have no idea what u'r talking about but would like to participate in the conversation?

I could best explain with an example:

 

Superman movies

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Smallville

 

Each one of these is a "re-imagining" of the Superman idea while staying true to the comic books, with artistic license.
