  1. Riker chick:

I too love belly dancing! I was a professional belly dancer some 15-20 years ago.

The interest in belly dancing sort of waned when the first gulf war broke out, and of course after Sept 11, the Arabs are now our biggest enemy, taking the place the Russians held during the Cold War.

And that is a damn shame, because not all Arabs are bad. I have many friends that are Arab, and my ex-husband (who died last year) was from Yemen. He was a good man, and cried along with us on Sept 11.

    But back to dancing!

Dancing is a wonderful way to release excess tension and helps make you feel good about yourself. You don't have to be good at it, or even a professional, if it comes from your heart and soul, you've got it right.

In case you're interested, here is a page on Belly Dancing that I started, but never finished. Actually, I never got farther than sticking a couple of pictures of me on it. But at least you can see what I looked like 10 years ago.

There is a link to Selket's belly dance page, which has a lot of great material. The Selket bio page (on Egyptian goddess Selket) is my page, and dancer Selket provided a link to it. (LadyMoondancer is my other screen name).

  2. By the wings of Isis and the claws of Sekhmet!

The Princess had tears dripping in her tanna leaf tea when she read the warm messages. By all the gods of Kemet you shall all be blessed!

Even people who the Princess does not know welcomed her!

I shall sing songs of praise for all of you in the Holy Temples and raise a cup of the Blessed tanna leaf tea in rejoicing the kind hearts of Trekdom! :dude:

  3. :wow:

Yes, after a long absence, Princess Ananka is back.

I have had a very trying year last year. Several family deaths and two open heart surgeries (first my husband and then my dad).

I still may not get over here as often as I like, as I have so much to catch up on. I am busy doing work on my own Star Trek website (you are invited to come on over and take a look at: http//groups.msn.com/USSAriNCC1723

And I still have a lot going on in the outside world.I will try to check in at least once a week and enrich your lives with my princess presence. ha ha.

    kisses to all! Princess A.

  4. ok, here's a good one.

Levar Burton, Geordi LaForge, started his film career playing Kunta Kinte in Roots. The guy who played his father, Thalmus Rasulala was in an episode of Next Gen (can't remember which one, maybe Conspiracy? Madge Sinclair, who played Geordi's mom, played Kunte Kinte's wife in Roots. Ben Vereen, who played Geordi's dad on Next Gen, played Chicken George in Roots, Kunta's grandson.

In the late 80's, they did a special called Roots: The Gift, where Levar Burton again played Kunta Kinte. In it, was Kate Mulgrew, Capt. Janeway and Tim Russ.

  5. I was also personally attacked when I posted that I was against the war. I was threatened with anal rape. altho I don't feel as tho that particular poster could actually find out where I live, and even if they did, well, let's just say, I'm packing! And I have a billy club right next to my front door, and my hubby would just whip out his knife and cut up anybody who hurt me.

anyway, that was why I left, the spamming, the name calling. I don't mind a little swearing for emphasis, and mild name-calling, but just as up above, the Soong sisters were called psychotic, for just posting? To my mind, that is abuse. And altho the site itself is informative, the message board administrator doesn't care about us loyal fans getting abused.

  6. I have all their music. Have loved them since 1963. But my absolute favorite album is Abbey Road. Especially the 2nd side, where the songs meld into each other. They really rock on this one. And don't forget's Ringo's drum solo. That just blows me away everytime I hear it.

"And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make."

  7. Actually, the record for the most aliens and characters played by an actor on Trek is held by Vaughn Armstrong, who currently plays Admiral Maxwell Forest on Enterprise.

He is a great guy, met him when he came to Buffalo for a mini-convention for the Nemesis premiere, (check out my site at: http://groups.msn.com/USSAriNCC1723 for a writeup (sidebar menu) for the Nemesis convention. Also 3 pages of pics with Vaughn, Carolyn Seymour and Aron Eisenberg (Nog).

Sorry about the shameless plugging of my site. And to get back to the topic of Jeffrey Coombs, that is one sexy guy. I love him as Weyoun and Shran. (must be the blue makeup, lol).

  8. who's the youngest, and who's the oldest?

don't you guys know it is not polite to ask a lady (especially a princess) her age?

anyway, I got data beat. I'll be 51 in August. And have loved Trek since the summer of 1966 when I saw Mr. Spock in the previews.

talk about love at first sight. must be those pointed ears! (he still can't sing good, but I forgive him).

  9. Hey! I've just transported over from the crummy message boards at Star Trek.com. I hope these boards are better moderated. And if any of you are familiar with me, you know that I am a reincarnated 3000 year old Egyptian mummy who loves Star Trek.

I am basically a nice person, but sometimes have demonstrated a sharp tongue. (which shows I have the ability to open mouth, insert foot). Hope to see all my old friends here, as well as making new ones. :)
