Well,I've been homeschooled my entire life.I completed the equivalent of 12th-grade last year.Since then I've been enrolled at a local junior college, but doing all of the course work here at home.I'm majoring in criminology. As Mr.Spock would say,"It's...fascinating."

Man,that's bad.
Unfortunately,I think, the Olympics' prestige has suffered in the past 20-years or so,what with all the scandals over drug-enhanced performances, and questionable actions by the Olympic Committee members and judges.A lot of our professional athletes just don't care about playing in the Olympics. They won't get paid and may injure themselves. They'd only be playing for national pride. And as far as they are concerned, where is the incentive in that?
Also, the majority of pro ball players on the US team were almost the dregs of the minor league system.I'm not saying those guys are bad players, just that its not like we had Clemens pitching for us,or Pudge Rodriguez batting and catching.
This sucks.
I guess the Olympic Chairman ought to give Cuba the gold now and be done with it.

"Intergalactic" by the Beastie Boys.

Hmm.I think I'd put it in sci-fi.Afterall it involves a wacky scientist and time-travel.

I heard about that this morning. Its a tragedy.
Crash Holly was one of my favorites. :o

Well, let's do a what-if scenarrio.Jadzia Dax & Worf have a baby and call it Kal-el. :o
Kal-el and Ezri Dax (becuase Jadzia died) get together and become a couple.
The way I see it, "Jadzia" would be the mother of Kal-el, not Dax. Also, each time Dax joins with a host, a new personallity rises from the 2 blended personallities. So, I don't think the symbiont would have any relation to it's hosts offspring, however, becuase of the memories, it'd be far too wierd for a joined Trill to fall in love with a previous hosts child. :o
Yeah,Captain. That was pretty much my feelings on the thing.
I wasn't sure to what extint the memories of previous hosts stay fresh in the mind of the new host.Actually, what got me to wondering about that was Julian Bashir's predestination paradox, when he met and fell for Crewman Watley (his great-great grandmother or something) in "Trials and Tribbleations".I took that scenario, flipped it and applied it to Trills.

I've watched this film time and again, and it never gets old.I love Mel Brooks' films, and Blazing Saddles is one of the best.
I heard that originally they cast Richard Pryor to play the part of Sheriff Bart, but a prior commitment by Pryor, gave the role to Cleavon Little.I'm glad it did.I can't imagine Pryor doing a better job as Sheriff of Rockridge.
And Gene Wilder. That man is a genius. He works well with anybody, and has appeared in several of Mel Brooks best films (The Producers,Young Frankenstein). The same goes for the beautiful, and sadly deceased Madeline Kahn.Of course,Mel's in the film too, playing the part of a corrupt and scatter-brained territorial governor.
I think my favorite parts of the film would be Mongo's candygram, the bigot cowboys singing "Camptown Races",the gassy campire scene, and Bart's liason with Madeline Kahn's "Marlene Dietrich"-like character.
Other great Mel Brooks films:
Life Stinks
Space Balls
Robin Hood:Men In Tights
To Be or Not To Be
Silent Movie
Dracula,Dead and loving It!
History of the World,Part 1

See ya later,Yellow Dragon!
Come back and visit us sometimes.
-
Okay. This popped into my head late last night.Just kind of came out of left field, but once I started thinking about it,it just stuck in my brain and wouldn't shake loose. So here goes:
If a Trill had a child and raised that child to maturity, and then died...and the symbiont was placed into a new Trill host that knew neither the prior host or that host's offspring, and somewhere down the line met, fell in love with, and married that other host's child, would that be incest?
Gross subject,I know. But I'm curious as to what the answer would be.I can't really say,as I can form a pretty good argument, either way.
What are your thoughts?

This was a great thread.I learned a ton about the Deltans!
Prior to reading this,I only knew that they were bald,Federation members, and hyper-sexual.
I would disagree with them that humans are sexually immature, though. Some of us might see them as sexually immature, what with the way they just do what they do,at the drop of a hat.still....
It might be an awesome place to visit :o

I could see that.Sort of the way George Lucas cleaned up the Star Wars films. They had badly deteriorated over the years, despite being kept in a special vault deep underground,so he gathered a group of his best people from Lucas Films and cleaned the films up,giving them a sharper, cleaner look.In fact, they came out looking much better than they had originally.Even if Star Trek doesn't add new scenes to the episodes (the way GL added new parts to his original trilogy),it would still be a worthwhile endeavor.I'd like to see it happen.

Earth destroyed...the Xindi victorious...Trip in command...T'Pol and Archer....
what wasn't to love?
I gave it a 9.5.

Weren't the Remans [as slaves] forced to work in mine's? Perhaps there was something in the mines besides dilithium, which accelerated their evolution. It is possible. Now,that is a possibility I hadn't considered.Accelerated evolution or mutations brought about through outside influence.Great possibility.Maybe dilithium radiation?

Evolutionary changes couldn't possibly happen over such a brief period of time. The Remans share some basic vulcanoid physical traits, but come on,let's be serious...take a good look at the pics of the Rom and the Rem.Do you honestly believe that drastic of a change could have occured in the span of only a few thousand years?
I don't.

I don't know.Would a fella who was embarrassed and disgusted that somebody erected a statue in his honor want a ship named after him?I kinda doubt it.
Besides,I'm pretty sure Cochrane left Earth/Alpha Centauri decades before the Warp-5 Program got underway.First contact is about as far removed from Enterprise,as Enterprise is from TOS,timewise.

Up until about age 12 I would've called it a sport.
I know a LOT of folks around where I live that consider it a sport and real
Oh,boy. That's pretty funny. But what can you do?If they want to believe its real, then I guess for them its real.
