  1. I rarely post on this site, yet I'm an avid TOS, TNG and ENT fan. I wanted to view the results of this poll prior to voting, yet now the site says I've already voted, when I have not. Anyway...............

    "These are the Voyages....."

    Typical of BnB writting.

Especially how they wrote what happens to Trip.

Apparently they had 5 minutes to fill, and this was the only thing they could think of. Typical of their lack luster writting. They could have used that time instead for Archer's speech and other details of the matter.

Still, sad to see Enterprise go.

I really enjoyed the show, most of the time, and it had its moments. Mostly during the 3rd and 4th seasons. I will say, These are the Voyages... was a major let down. Yeah, I'm a big TNG fan, but the way this episode was scripted and tried to tie things together was pathetic. The ending was touchy, yet all the 'valentines' BnB injected still shows why ENT and Star Trek in general has experienced a major falling out with the fans.

Ugh, I could go on and on. I more pissed than upset. Pissed that BnB couldn't come up with anything else more fullfilling and entertaining as a Series Finale. Hopefully when Star Trek returns, it will be helmed by others than BnB. They alone (and many other news/magazines agree) have run Trek into the ground. Although, it appears Mr. Les Mooves had a hand in Trek's demise as well.

    Live long and prosper everyone....

  2. Alterego,

Thanks for the PR info.. I sure hope there are more deleted scenes than the ones listed. IMHO, those are a fraction of the deleted scenes, there are some real good scenes that were cut.. I've got the videos on CD somewhere in my CD collection.

    Ktrek,

I just saw the commercial again, I missed the date, but it seems like they said the 17th? Doesn't seem right, seeing how most DVDs and such are released on Tuesdays.. Maybe it was the 21st? I'll be on the lookout for the commercial again.

I actually enjoyed the first time I saw Generations in the movie theater. Seeing the saucer section crash into the ground on the big screen was awesome. Yet, once I found the deleted scenes on the web, including a no Kirk death ending, I found myself not liking Generations as much. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE Star Trek Fan. TOS, TNG, and ENT.

  3. Has anyone seen the commericals yet?

    I saw them Monday evening.

    They're re-releasing Generations.

This time around, they're providing an alternate ending, probably the one where Kirk does not die. Plus, I don't know whether the cut footage will be inserted into the film, or as 'extras', but I do know, there is a cut scene with Riker, Worf, and Data in sick bay that should not have been cut. It's classic Riker and Worf.

BTW, A couple of years ago I managed to find all the Generations cut footage that leaked onto the net.

Anyway, just thought I'd make a post, and see if anyone has seen the commercials, or is looking forward to the new release.. I know I'm looking forward to it.

What I'm really looking forward to is a First Contact SE 2 DVD set, but the new Generations DVDs will suffice for now..

  4. The TNG book 'Relics' is much more enjoyable than the 1 hour episode.

Have any of you read it? If you're a treky-techy geek, you'll dig the book dialog of Geordi talking about the transporter loop setup by Scotty. The TV episode butchered that text into a few sentences.. Of course they had to to make it fit into the 1 hour timeslot.. I think it's a good book and episode, but IMHO with 7 seasons, there are other episodes that are better. :)

  5. This episode was made from a book.

    Read the book!!!

    It's very good!!!

The details from the book can't compare to the TV episode.

A lot more details and goodies pertaining to Scotty's transporter loop to stay alive for so long.

Plus a whole sub story about Riker beaming down to where they found the contruction equipment to build the Dyson Sphere.

Last but not least, the details of dropping the shields, teleporting Scotty and Geordi, then torpedo-ing the Janolen.

  6. I won't argue Fist Full of Datas is a hilarious episode, along with Qpid.

    Here's something different...

    Times Arrow pt2

The lady that runs the hotel demanding the rent..

    'Mr. Pic-kard'

    :wow:

    Unification pt1

Picard and Data in the same quarters on the Klingon ship.

Picard lays down on the steel bunk to try and sleep..

He turns his head towards Data...

Picard - What are you doing?

Data - I am processing data, was I making noise?

    Picard - No, not exactly..

Picard then tries to goto sleep again.. Then he slowly opens his eyes and quickly turns around to look at Data.

Picard - What are you looking at?

    Data - Nothing

Picard - But you're looking right at me!

    Data - I am sorry.

Data then proceeds to turn 90 degrees, but keeps looking straight at Picard, freaking Picard out even more.. The entire scene cracks me up.. Actually, there are several hilarious moments in Unification pt1 and p2.

    :wow:

  7. Wow, you all have listed some good ones.

    How about these:

(pardon my lack quoting 100% verbatim)

    UNIFICATION:

Tasha's Romulan daughter: "I don't get to write speeches much in this job"

Data: "Perhaps you'd like another job"

    ----

Data: "You are half human, yet you've chosen the Vulcan way of life"

Spock: "Yes, I have no regrets"

Data: "Regrets, that is a human expression"

    Spock: "Yes, it is... Fascinating"

    I can't remember which episodes..

Anytime there is a brawl in Ten Forward

    FIRST CONTACT:

    Troi and Cockran drinking..

When they restart the jukebox, the guy in the background wakes up and takes drink of his beer.

    GENERATIONS:

Data tasting a beverage for the first time with his emotions chip in Ten Forward

The entire 'Cause and Effect' episode...

  8. I have to agree with most of you.

While the new theme song is upbeat, with a more noticeable drum track.

The changes to the lead guitar track is what disappointed me the most.

    Too lame and weak.

The good rif from the lyrics "I've got strength of the soul" to the end of the song is gone.

(It's the part where the scientist is writing on the chalkboard with the rocket overlay)

  9. Hi everyone,

I finally watched the Nemesis DVD and deleted scenes the other day.

I did go see Nemesis at the movie last December.

One thing about the alternate ending, after the seat belt display, Picard says "It's a place..... Where no one has gone before". That's classical Star Trek!!! Other than that, I thought the alternate ending was so-so and I prefered the original theatrical ending. I just wished they would have used that line, somehow, in the original ending.

I really enjoyed the deleted scene with Data and Picard. That scene should have remained. Not only was Data hilarious, but did anyone catch Data looking at the flute Picard gained from the episode Inner Light? That alone should have been enough merit to leave that scene in. Also, did anyone notice Picard's Fencing mask in the background?

One thing I noticed and I wonder how many of you did too...

This pertains to the deleted scenes and the previews for the movie from last December.

Worf - "I recommend extreme caution" - used in preview, not in theatrical movie.

Troi - Kneeling in turbolift after Shinzon violation - used in preview, not in theatrical movie

There was another, but I can't remember. I'd have to go back nad watch the deleted scenes again to spot it.

IMHO, I wished they had released the Nemesis DVD in a totally UNCUT and theatrical version. Sort of like the Terminator 2 Ultimate DVD.

  10. Thanks for the replies everyone...

Helped me remember some things, and put other things into perspective.

I had completely forgotten about the last episode of the 1st TNG season that ~Crims~ mentioned.. Very good point!!! Even going back and watching that episode it's clear this episode is the starting point of the borg espisodes in which leading up to "Q Who?".

Plus, it is very possible that the info was forgotten or hidden from the TNG crew to allow Best of Both Worlds to pan out correctly and for them to complete their mission up to the end of First Contact.

  11. That Enterprise is ruining certain ascpects of the TNG timeline.

    Click for Spoiler:

We all know, had it not been for Q, the TNG crew probably wouldn't have encountered the Borg. Nor would Picard have been assimilated. Nor the movie First Contact.

For Archer to say at the end of the Regenration episode "We just postponed their invasion for 200 years" is ludicrous. Not to mention all the discoveries Dr. Pholx made.. Come on.. All that info would have been available to the TNG crew in the future. Whoever wrote that script (Berman / Bragga I guess) simply took TNG, rolled it back 200 some odd years and tried to make it work.

I liked the episode, but it borders on the line, if not crosses over, of breaking the timeline.

I know, it's just a TV show, but still. :wow:

Anyone else have any thoughts about this?

Not to mention the upcoming 'Expanse' episode.

Why do I get the feeling it has something to do with the Borg.

Please correct me if I am wrong..

  12. I've been a diehard ST and TNG fan for many many years, but I enjoyed Nemesis up until the very end. Sure Data's death was a heavy blow, but what ticks me off the most is the fact there was no remorse scene for Data. Especially from Geordi. That alone makes me think lowly of Nemesis. It's like Nemesis copied the basics of Wrath of Khan right up to the very end. Except instead of having a memorial service (like they did for Spock), they just acted like Data had never been there in the first place. When in fact had it not been for Data over the years, the TNG crew would have died in space a long time ago. I'd like to see a thread of every instance of how Data's abilities saved the TNG crew or Enterprise.

Personally, I would have preferred them make ST:X from the book "Dark Mirror" instead of "Nemesis". Those that have read that book should know what I mean.
