  1. Talk about a huge shade of grey, you could tell in the beginning that they wanted her to be one of the main vilains, but there were so many times she kept teetering towards good. I think the writers gave her the mentality to want to do well, to try to help Bajor the best she could, but her nature won out every time. I think her best acting was during that last arch when they started doing some strange things with her. I'm still not sure how I feel about her relationship with Anjel (sp?) - Dukat - but when she found out about the Pah Wraiths' plans for her, she really wanted to turn around, but she just couldn't let go of power. She had to be in power, in her own mind, and no matter how many times you feel bad for her not being able to hear the Prophets, you just have to love the fact that she was doomed from the very first time we saw her...

How dare her do that to Bareil! She killed him! :-)

  2. I found some of the pieces for my costume, but I don't know if it's going to work how I planned. Trying to go as some sort of dark, fallen angel. The wings I bought aren't what I had in mind, but I didn't have time to make the myself. Next year, I might try again and do that. Now I just need to find the actual outfit to go with it. :-)

I don't know what we'll be doing, but I'm sure we'll be going out somewhere... I hope we are with the money I'm spending... lol

  3. Of the ones on this list, I picked "My Name Is Earl". I think that show is one of the best of the new season, and the others on the list are somewhat secondary, with the exception of "Supernatural", which I haven't had the chance to see yet. I've heard good things though...

I think, though, "Invasion" is incredible. Too bad that's not on here becuase that's what I would have picked. My Wednesday nights are stuck on Lost and Invasion.

  4. I normally don't like how networks say goodbye to people like this in their specials. They don't really turn out well, but ABC had so much taste and reverence with the 2-hour uninterupted special they did Tuesday, I almost cried. I work at an ABC affiliate and don't normally like what we have on the air, but I always liked Jennings. He really tried to bring you the story you needed, not what the network wanted you to hear for ratings.

The ending with the ABC News theme played quietly on that trumpet with the horns in the background and the empty anchor desk was just -- well, it was nice.

I will certainly miss his style of telling a story.

  5. When the first two seasons were on, I was very young -- about 12-13, and I enjoyed those episodes at that age. They're very good introductions to the characters, but you really don't get into the archs until the huge Circle story at the begining of season 2, then the Maquis story, and then the Jem'Hedar come into play (which starts off as such a light episode, and picks up so fast).

"The Jem'Hedar" is probably the most fun episode from those seasons, because you don't know what's happening between the Jem'Hedar, the Vorta lady, or even where it's winding up... Really cool.

Once that happens, DS9 changes forever and really becomes a huge stage for great drama and modern commentary.

They even had an episode concerning gay issues (at least, I think it was). It could have been about any community that's kinda shut out I suppose, but I really saw a ton of paralels in "Chimera" during the last season, which just goes to show that everybody had something to gain from DS9.

Certainly enjoy the end of season 5 and the first 6 episodes of season 6. Incredible arch there.

Really, you're gonna have fun here...

  6. I didn't want to go into details, becuase I don't want to relive it, but I hated the movie. I've got kids at another Trek site going off on me like I just said Captain Kirk may have been a loser, and all I'm saying is I didn't like it at all. I hope others do.

Good - Yoda, Grevous, O-Bi-Wan, Senator/the future Bail Organa, score, cinematography, cgi...

    Bad - Acting, Writing, Directing...

Please someone post something good without ripping my soul apart because I have an opinion...

  7. I know that every once in a while, people involved in Trek from a production stand point visit fan sites to see what people are saying. Now I don't know if they still do with the show being over or not, but for the first time in my Trekker life, I hope they are able to read this.

Terra Prime was pure perfection. I had the distinct privelage of living in an area where a basketball game pre-empted the finale, so I saw These Are the Voyages two days before watching the Terra Prime/Demons ending. I was upset about the real series finale beyond belief, but I don't want to dwell on that. Too many people have already.

By watching Terra Prime afterwards, I see that in my mind as the true finale, from a chronological point of view. It had everything in it that I had wanted to see happen within a finale. The Reeves-Stevens, Manny Coto, and Andre Bormanis should be commended for their excelent skills as story tellers, as should the reat of the crew and the cast. The acting was tremendous, the technical skills in production as well, and, well, the story. It, and it alone, wrapped up what Enterprise truly was about in this, its final year on television.

I cried. Honestly, I cried like a baby when Archer gave his speech to the council, when Elizibeth was about to die, when Trip had to confront T'Pol about the members of the council wanting to be at the memorial for her. I was touched for the first time by this crew -- I finally knew what this show was about when it came down to it.

Enterprise was not about how it fit with continuity, it was not about future generations looking back and saying,"I read about this in a history book once." Enterprise was about us -- humanity afraid of what its next step would be, but overcoming the odds and its own trials to succeed in bringing the dream to life.

Archer's speech really got to me, and I think that's what sums up the show.

Without bashing anyone, this was a much more fitting send off for this modern crew. Thank you to the writers, the actors, and the rest of the crew who put this show on the air. This was my Final Frontier...

Okay, since my exectations were so low, I tried to go into it with a fresh mind. I tried to look at it as not an episode, not a consistant story, but, as someone on another fan site has said, an OVA-like excursion for Star Trek itself.

With that said, it was not good. Not at all, but I tried to enjoy it as much as I could so I could not be upset about Trek ending this way.

I loved the 1701-D shots -- stunning new way to look at the ship. I loved the ending montage -- just gorgeous and poiniant. I think the production crew did an amazing job of trying to recreate the Enterprise-D. There were flaws, but I was pleased enough not to bring them to light. If the episode were just that, it would get a 10 by far. The crew did a great job.

The NX-01 actors did an amazing job as well I thought. Though they may not have been happy with the script and story, I think they put their best effort forward and tried to make these "characters" fit with what they had been doing for 4 years now. Props to them as well. Frakes and Sirtis did okay -- they get a 7.

The story though -- I'm sorry. 0 score. It made no sense. What did Troi think Riker would get out of this? I guess Trip's story was the main reason for Riker being there, but, there was no direct link between the choice he had to make with Preston and anything else that was going on with the NX-01. And we don't even get to see the speach from Archer? I was a little peeved, but put it past me in order to pretend I was enjoying it. It was everything we didn't need to see, and nothing we should have and wanted to see (story wise).

What do I feel? "Loathing. Unadulterated loathing..." [guess the quote, win my respect].

I'm disappointed, but I'm not a basher, so I won't dwell on it, and look forward to the future...

"These Are the Voyages..." gets a very, very low 3...

  9. Totally agree with those above. Kira/Odo -- I waited for that to bloom for so long, and they finally made it come about with such class -- such cheesy class perhaps, but still classy.

Go Vic Fontane, you dog you... :tear:

  10. I was a huge Quantum Leap fan. My mother and I used to watch it all the time -- me for the story, she loved that Scott Bakula. That was my show before I was a big Trek fan, and just like above, the reason I never stopped watching Enterprise though I was so angry at where the would go sometimes... It was all about Bakula...

I wish Belasario would do something again with QL real soon... then I could definately make it through this lack of Trek phase...

  11. After hearing reviews of Revenge of the Sith and being extremely hopeful that no matter how bad Episodes I and II were, Lucas cannot mess this story up, I have decided that I am looking more forward to the final installment of Star Wars. Though I am excited to see the forming of the Federation, I think that the episodes leading up to the finale will be better in general than the last installment. The birth of Vader, however, holds much more promise and I think will turn out to be my highlight of the season film wise... (not counting Sin City, which I consider the best film of the year so far... :naughty: )

    What do you think?
