'Lady Britannia' date='Jun 19 2007, 11:25 PM' post='408949'The march was for Enterprise alone
Say what you want. "I" was there for Star Trek as a franchise first. And ENT as a series second.
When I started this thread I didn't know I was going to end up having to defend my march on Paramount, and protesting the cancellation. I knew it was a futile effort... but I loved it all that much. Just doing my part.
Sorry y'all. I'm new here. I'll keep personal thoughts to myself (like not liking CBS's reversal on Jericho).... and just agree with the majority.
Peace.... and long life.

By chance....you would happen to be "Linda Park", would you?
Sorry, no. Same name.... different attitude.

Personally, and its just my opinion, so give it as much value as you dare... but it was Berman and Braga that sunk ENT to the depths of despair. Given enough time, Coto was bringing it up again. He just didn't get the time to pull hard enough.
However, I do respect your feelings about ENT. Its not everyone's fav.
I take each series independent - on its own... not dependent on other series... or what canon has taught.

Actually, Jericho isn't the first series CBS renewed due to fan protest - they brought back Due South and Touched by Angel as a result of fan protest - (the latter of which went on to be an immensely popular show).
Well, I guess if you put it that way.... We weren't all there just marching for Enterprise itself, but the whole franchise. I guess it wasn't enough.
Sorry guys... we tried. Where were you?

I was fortunate enough to watch the ENT episode "Divergence" in Los Angeles with Manny Coto. You could see the glimmer of love in his eyes while he spoke of the events going on while the episode was being made. Yes, he wasn't 'just' a producer and writer... he's one of us. He's a true fan too.

After ST: Enterprise was canceled, ST United and Save ENT promoted rallies to take place in various places around the world, all to happen at the same time. I went to Los Angeles to march on Paramount, because I loved it that much. I wasn't just marching for Enterprise, but for the whole franchise. After spending 12 hours on that sidewalk, and having a very nice day.... despite the futility of the march, but still... I'd do it again in a light speed instant.
The bonus of a lifetime actually came after... I was part of a small group that was invited to watch the ST: Enterprise episode that airied that night... with Manny Coto.
Manny was giving a running dialog about what was going on on the set when the episode "Divergence" was being made. That same day, while we marched, the cast and crew had begun filming the last episode, "These Are The Voyages." Manny let us know that they all appreciated our efforts, and thanked everyone all over the world that showed their support.
I'll aways remember that day....
It felt like I was saying goodbye to a life-long friend...

Every episode... first run, from the beginning ... Sept 8, 1966 all the way through ST: ENT.

Since I'm playing Phlox in an Enterprise RPG, I would like to have seen more of Phlox's history. More info about his Debobulan culture and family dynamics.

I'm in an Enterprise RPG that takes up where the series left off... at the beginnings of the Romulan War. We have several characters that are available to be 'adopted' if anyone wants to join in.
I know the following characters are available:
Ens. Hoshi Sato
Ens. Travis Mayweather
A Tellerite Captain
Romulan officers / crew members
Any other character you'd like to create to join in... such as MACO soldier
Starfleet Security members
Any other character....
The above link is to the RPG itself. If you are interested in joining, please let me know, and I can direct you to the RPG Owner/moderators.
I'm Phlox!

Recently there was a comment made by a CBS Executive concerning the cancelation of the program "Jericho." Petitions, letters and 'nuts' sent to CBS/Viacom actually made the network reverse their decision and renew Jerhicho for 8 more episodes with a possible option to renew for a whole season. The executive actually used the words, "We've never seen anything like this!"
Excuse me!!! ??? !!!
Don't sit up their in their high and mighty chairs at the executive levels and say that Star Trek fans didn't try hard enough! Don't sit there and tell me they didn't know we protested when Star Trek: Enterprise was canceled. Don't tell me they didn't know that rallies were held world wide to protest (I spent 12 hours that day marcing at Paramout's main gates) ... that we didn't send letters, emails, phone calls, and faxes! Did they not get them? They've never seen anything like that? How the devil can they say that? Were there more Jericho fans than Star Trek fans? I doubt that!
I've watched Jericho from its beginnings too, and was sorry when it was canceled. I made no effort to join in any of the petitions to protest or ask for a renewal. Considering the results of how Star Trek - as an entire franchise - was treated, I figured there was no hope. But... then when I read, "we've never seen anything like this!" just made me boil.

This is my first fan-fic... so please bear with me. Its a learning process. "Every Dog Has His Day" takes place very early in the mission of the NX-01 when the tension between Capt. Archer and Sub-Cmdr T'Pol is still quite high. I love Star Trek, and dogs... so it was fun to put Porthos in the center seat... of only for a short time. In this story, Porthos makes first contact....
I never really took the time to go back and edit and 'refine' this story. Its pretty much the way it came out of my head.

This is the link to my 3rd effort to write fan-fiction. Its a little short ditty taking place after the end of the Xindi conflict, but before events in the last episode "These Are The Voyages." Its about 36 hours in the life of Captain Archer. The crew is enjoying some R&R downtime on a planet celebrating a spiritual holiday. There are stirrings of what will eventually become known as the Romulan War.
Borrowing from the musical talents of Scott Bakula....
CBS and fan protests

Rumors power the internet. Don't believe it till you see it. Maybe the article was removed by ST.com because its ... an unverified rumor.
