  1. I disagreed with a lot of the theology of Angel (and Buffy), but I still really enjoyed them. (I did stop watching the last few seasons of Buffy, though.) The characters were the main reason I kept watching  . And something that the both of them did which isn't too common these days , is that they both had real evil existing, and that there is a fight, good vs. evil. There were definitely things that didn't make sense or I didn't agree with, but I think being aware of those things still allowed me to enjoy the show. (Like Angel's soul - since it was the demon who was inhabiting his body that did all those horrible things, why is he, with his soul, having to find redemption? That never made any sense to me.)

I liked the series finale. I liked Wesley's death (as heartbreaking as it was <_< ), I liked the Lorn twist, and I liked Connor's involvement. I think I liked Illyria best, though. The part where she thinks she's feeling grief at the end was just - amazing, I think. The part where I think it failed was it tried to replace the typical big-fight-action scenes (like where Illyria crushes the car and it's occupants) with more emotional ones, a 'this is why we do this' kind of thing. I don't think it quite succeeded in that respect. There wasn't enough impact, importance, in those scenes. Not enough connection to the theme, either. That was pretty much my only problem with it. :nono:

  2. I prefer the old one as well. I didn't like it at first, admittedly, but it really grew on me - and I grew to love it. It was one of my favorite opening-credit songs. It seems now like they just - added stuff, and now it doesn't seem to flow so smoothly to me.

However, I'm remembering how people hated the old one when it came out, and then it grew on a lot of people. I'm hoping I grow to like this one as much as the old one.

  3. B'Elanna. Because I think she's the kind of person to be in a no-holds-barred, everything-goes kind of a fight. Seven would fight logically, with no real passion - and therefore no real determination - behind it. So - B'Elanna.

  4. Here's a question: Why not find a way to slow the shuttle's atmospheric re-entry?

Taking a huge, uneducated leap - the only way I can think of to accomplish that is to have something like you see in all those scifi movies, and have an opposing (against gravity) force, such as thrusters facing the other way. Wouldn't that require not only extra fuel (which would have to be carried up), but a new design?

And I definitely think we should go back to the moon, and even farther.

  5. *points up at Gabri* She told me, and her sister told her! I decided to take a look. I mostly lurk, because I feel kind of . . . uneducated in ST matters compared to some posters  , but I really like it here. It makes me look at ST a different way.

  6. I think it's certainly possible they'll make her a good, strong female character. I've seen it pulled off well before. I'm just really skeptical, I guess. I just want to see a female character that is feminine without being a sex kitten, and strong without acting too much like a man (did I mention I never liked Janeway? :( ) :tear:

I suppose I just wish they would portray women and men the way they are. Women have thirty percent less muscle mass than men if they're the same weight (or height?) - in a fight, who is going to win if they're both soldiers? I wish instead of doing that (which I find very unrealistic) they would show other strengths. Women have more endurance, they're just as smart as men, they have better interpersonal skills (generally). I'm a girl, you know - I want a character I can empathize with more realistically not a girl who beat up a man twice her size. :o

Anyway - I'm crossing my fingers to more spoilers and a good female character. I'm not caring too much for the current female characters either, so let's hope this one will be good. :o

  7. I was at the point where I was about ready to give up watching Enterprise, but I have to say, the spoilers and comments on here have given me some hope! :tear:

Only some, though. :o I'm always irritated by female soldiers, and I don't like that they're going to have one. Female soldiers - who are always sexy, but want to be treated as equals - are so cliche. Women simply aren't as strong as men, physically, but they always act like they are . . . [/rant]

I'm seriously looking forward to seeing Trip's character develop, and some real story-arcs start. I"m also glad to hear that peace-loving Archer will be gone - they were taking it too far.

And Trip and T'Pol getting to know each other better? I actually think that's good - I like how they interact.

  8. Most definitely Tom Paris. But that might because I had a major crush on him during the first four seasons. :wow: But I always found him a cool character - I think he kind of redeems himself, being a convicted criminal and then going on to be a . . . lietenant? I cannot spell. :D

  9. I told myself I would lurk to get used to this board system, but oh well . . .

I would love to see a mixed cast - probably more so than one with the cast from a single series. I think it would be cool to see them interact, and could provide all kinds of interesting dialogue. And I dearly, dearly want to see what happened to Tom Paris! :D After all, the other people who weren't originally StarFleet were more suspected of treason/whatever, right? But Paris was a convicted criminal.

    Anyway . . . so I'd like to see a mixed cast. :)
