Troy, I offer my condolences as well. I'm terribly sorry for your loss.
-
I just finished David Mack's Destiny trilogy, and I absolutely loved it. Expert storytelling, fine writing, and a terrific plot make for a fine set of novels, in my opinion.
-
Thanks, MrPsychic. I appreciated the themed trivia round...nicely done!
-
Thanks to everybody for the love they gave to Twilight and Provenance of Shadows. I'm always gratified to hear that I've connected with a reader.
-
Just curious: what happened to the new rating?
-
Wow. That was fast. I'm glad people liked the suggestion. Thanks to everybody for their feedback, and to those that made it happen.
-
^ I see your point, though Gene Roddenberry's nickname was the Great Bird of the Galaxy, which kinda makes him the creator of all things Trek, including the Q. Still, I do see what you mean, and your suggestion also works.
-
Just a thought. The trivia rankings are all pretty cool, in my opinion, except for the top ranking. "Super Q" is an invented designation never heard in Star Trek. A better choice for this topmost ranking, I think, would be something heard in the very first Trek episode ever aired: Great Bird of the Galaxy (in the TOS episode "The Man Trap"). Again, just a thought.

Congratulations on a now-perfect score.Woo hoo! And there was much rejoicing....

Since DRGIII had difficulty sending me an image to answer one of the questions, I'll give him one more day to get it to me. I'll post the results of the question afterward. Thanks so much for the extra time. It turns out that something wasn't quite right with my account, making it impossible to me to add attachments. Alterego and Kevin helped me out and got it fixed, so I've now sent the attachment to you. Thanks for a challenging week of trivia!

I have an issue... one of the questions requires adding an attachment to a private message, but I can't find out how to do that. Any suggestions? I'd email an attachment, but I don't know WishfireOmega's email address, and the StarTrekFans.net email doesn't seem to allow attachments either. Anybody offer some help?

WOW, you have your own book?!?!i'll try that. thanks!
Well, I'm a writer, so I've got seven Star Trek novels, a Trek novella, a Voyager episode, and several other works to my credit.
Hope you enjoy Serpents.
-
Well, my own Serpents Among the Ruins chronicles some of the adventures of the Enterprise-B, under the command of Captain John Harriman.
-
Dillard.
I have recently read his last novel...
Just so you know, J. M. Dillard is Jeanne Dillard, a woman.

Welcome to the boards, Mr. George.
I look forward to your posts.
OH NO!.... :P
Now David is doubly insulted by being mistaken for a newbie! David has been a member here for 3 years!
My mistake. I neglected to look at his joining date. :blush 2:
Not a big deal...I was just having some fun with you anyway. There hasn't been a lot of book chatter around here lately, at least none to which I've been able to add to the discussion, so I thought I'd just stick my head in and say "hello."
Hello.
Hope everybody is doing well. And please, call me David.
-
I'll try not be offended by my not being included on the list, apart from "Other"...
:P

For whatever it's worth, I would not be able to make it to chats on Sundays.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed the session. It was a nice change of pace from the usual trivia chats (although I enjoy those as well), and it was nice to work with my fellow "Trek" trivia buffs. As always, master_q, you did a fine job as host.
-
Not that I'm aware of. But there is a novel (which I wrote) detailing the Tomed incident, about which we heard in the first-season "Next Generation" episode "The Neutral Zone." The novel involves the Enterprise-B in the year 2311, with Captain John Harriman and Executive Officer Demora Sulu. It is called Serpents Among the Ruins.

-
Well, I did write the story for an episode of "Voyager," entitled “Prime Factors”. Beyond that, I've penned three "Deep Space Nine" novels--The 34th Rule, set during the show, and Twilight and Olympus Descending, set afterward--and a Lost Era novel, Serpents Among the Ruins, about the Tomed Incident, and involving Captain Harriman and Executive Officer Demora Sulu aboard Enterprise-B. I also have a Demora Sulu novella, “Iron and Sacrifice,” coming out in the Tales from the Captain's Table anthology this June. Finally, I'm currently working on a TOS trilogy, due out on 2006 to help celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the show.

In my experiences in the chat room, I have no problem with the level of conversation. Plus I also think you do a fine job a being entertaining during the session, and in encouraging people to stay and chat afterward. I have only plaudits, and no complaints.
-
Can you see me now?
I actually do post here, and I've also participated as a guest in a chat (I'm a writer).

George, I'm not sure if you saw my suggestion above, so I'm posting it again. You know the links in the heading of every page on the site (Member Map - Forums - Search - Members - Calendar - Live Chat - Gallery)? Why not add a link called "Trivia," which links to the Trivia threads? This would make it easier for anybody to go from wherever they are in the site to Trivia, but it would also have the added benefit of giving more visibility to Trivia, on each and every page of the site. Perhaps such a universally available link would lure new folks in to Trivia.

Well, I hope you don't feel you've wasted your time, since only one person answered your trivia questions this week. I certainly enjoyed your questions, and I appreciate the time you took to conceive and then score them. Thank you.
