Quote From StarTrek.com:

Creation Entertainment, as to be expected, has scored some big Star Trek names for this weekend's (March 28 – 30) "Sci-Fi Summit" in Pasadena, California: Saturday evening headliners William Shatner ("James T. Kirk," for those living on another planet) and Leonard Nimoy ("Mr. Spock") spring to mind. But what also makes this year's event interesting is the diversity of stars and guest stars from the various Star Trek shows, plus a vampire's crypt of interesting genre guests from another Empire.

Some of the Trek stars and other guests scheduled to appear over the weekend that many fans may not have seen before include: Jennifer Lien ("Kes"), James Doohan ("Montgomery Scott"), Eddie Paskey ("Mr. Leslie" from TOS), Alan Ruck ("Captain Harriman" from "Star Trek Generations"), Eugene Roddenberry (son of Gene), Carrie Fisher ("Princess Leia" from another franchise, no doubt) and others, like James Marsters ("Spike" from the not so Trek-like Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

The Star Trek guests dominate the weekend, of course, and along with the heavy hitters you will get to see such stalwarts as Ethan Phillips ("Neelix"), Robert Picardo ("The Doctor"), Robert Beltran ("Chakotay") and Tim Russ ("Tuvok") on Friday, beginning at 12:35 p.m.

Saturday, with the exception of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's Armin Shimerman ("Quark"), the show is more focused on The Original Series, with the aforementioned headliners, along with Walter Koenig ("Pavel Chekov"), Doohan, and Nichelle Nichols ("Uhura"). The princess-ly Carrie Fisher is also on hand. [The one woman in space not kissed by Kirk. – Ed.]

Rounding out the weekend's main-stage entertainment will be Marina Sirtis ("Deanna Troi") and Michael Dorn ("Worf") sharing a stage on Sunday. They will be followed by Buffy stars Marsters and Nicholas Brendon ("Xander").

Other events and people include the traditional show-opening with Trek expert Richard Arnold and his always informative and entertaining Star Trek Universe update, followed by a talk from Eugene Roddenberry. Arnold, who also deals with the celebrity signers for Creation, reports that they have had a record number of requests from celebrities wishing to sign at this convention. So many, in fact, that they have been unable to fit them all in! Signing guests this year run the gamut from Paris Themmen ("Mike Teevee" from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Virtuoso") to Lorenzo Lamas (ABC's Are You Hot?). There are many, many more signing and for complete details you can visit the Creation Entertainment page below. On a final note, Kate Woodville ("Natira" from Star Trek's "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky") will be doing her first appearance at Pasadena.

Other events over the weekend will take place in "The Little Theatre." On Saturday, you can see Wil Wheaton ("Wesley Crusher") reading from his creative works and on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., there will be a special panel discussion with authors such as Geoffrey Mandel ("Star Trek Star Charts"), Larry Nemecek ("Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion") and Rick Sternbach (Illustrator and graphic artist, plus co-author of the "Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manuals").

There are also cabarets taking place on the Friday and Saturday nights, beginning at 9:00 p.m. Please note that the cabaret events require a separate admission fee.

Have fun and we look forward to seeing you there! Look for our full report beginning Monday, March 31.

Will you go (or can you go)?
