Ezri T 0 Posted September 6, 2007 It was bad we had to deal with one doctor not two. Unless the doctor looks like 7 of 9 and well keep both of them on all the time.
He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted September 6, 2007 Plus what you have to remember is the Doctor is not just a file but a complete program, and the program itself is probably readily available within Federation space. How many of you have Google Earth or Firefox or Yahoo Chat or any of a number of downloadable programs? Do you have backup copies of these? No, there is no need because you can always download another copy whenever you want to. The Doctor is probably similar technology that is easily downloadable from any Starfleet starbase or maybe even another ship. In normal operations there would be no need for backup. It is only when you are on the other side of the galaxy that this becomes an issue.
Ezri T 0 Posted September 6, 2007 So true, the doctor is just freeware .... cheap and pointless. Having a back up of the doctor is like having a backup of AOL
VaBeachGuy 12 Posted April 5, 2008 The episode is "Living Witness." So the question is answered! There were indeed back-up copies of the Doctor as evidenced in "Living Witness" Yeah, there was a backup until it was lost in Living Witness. Which by the way was a great episode! I need to watch that soon.
