Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky, it is more than 1000 light years away.

Wow Earth seems very small against the Antares Star in comparison

 

and Ford Prefect also happened to have come from the Betelguse area of the Galaxy.

Very interesting. Appealing too. Some may find it uncomfortable with the prospect of being a tiny-teeny part of a much larger universe. Personally I find it humbling, a demonstration that humans shouldn't get too cocky. A little humility is good for humanity I think.
