My grandfather is German and can't speak english,so I took 3 years of German language classes in high school in order to be able to write letters to him.He lives in Duisburg.I once visited him there.Beautiful country. Stardreamer 1 Posted November 5, 2003 Like Mrs. Picard I voted French. English is no. 1 language here in Germany. Each kid learns it in school. I choose French as second language because I love languages and 2 ancestors of mine were French. I learnt French for 4 year.
