Chanting We Want Pierce We Want Pierce

Recommended Posts

NEW YORK - They're shaken, stirred and just plain angry. And several months late with their response. A group of James Bond fans have launched a Web site, http://www.craignotbond.com, to protest British actor Daniel Craig replacing Pierce Brosnan in the 007 film franchise, and boycott the upcoming Bond movie "Casino Royale."

The fair-haired Craig, whose recent screen credits include "Munich" and "The Jacket," was tapped last October to play the secret-agent icon.

"EON Productions angered fans around the world when they fired Pierce Brosnan at the height of his popularity as Bond," said a statement on the site. "To add insult to injury, EON cast a short, blond, odd-looking Daniel Craig in the role of Bond."

"Craig, described by The New York Times as having a 'pale, flattened face and large, fleshy ears' is a terrible choice for Bond. If EON Productions and Sony Pictures will not accept they've made a big mistake, then Bond fans promise to boycott Casino Royale!"

Calls by The Associated Press to EON Productions and a representative for Craig were not immediately returned on Tuesday.

I agree that Brosnan should have been Bond for this film. It would have been his last one anyway. And I also agree that Craig isn't my top choice to be the next Bond, not to mention he can't take a punch, but I'm not going to do something as drastic as boycott it until I at least see the previews. I know what those people are talking about, and I support them. But I'm not with them.

I seriously doubt anyone will boycott the film, I know I won't. I will be too curious and want to see it. I'll make my judgments about the film and he and I see the film, all I know is that he will have to impress the fans in the film or he won't be Bond in the next. Possibly the next George

I am going to wait and see for now. I still think that having Daniel Craig was a poor pick as Bond.

I am a Bond fan and these fanboys don't speak for me. Personally I disliked the Brosnan films and thought they were too gimicky. Having seen Craig in several films I would say he is a great actor, much better than Brosnan in many respects, and I look forward to a Casino Royale that looks back to the original novels for influence.

I wish these individuals would look at some of the lad's work, like Layer Cake, before making a decision.

Pierce Brosnan has said many times that he didn't want to return as Bond. It'll be interesting, to say the least, how Craig will do on the big screen.

I won't boycott the film or anything. But this guy just doesn't look like Bond. He may end up being another Lazenby. Who knows? We'll See!

they are now saying that if it wouldn't be Pierce, they would have prefered Hugh Jackman over Craig and I agree

I hope Jackman gets his chance at Bond one day, I think he would be great, kinda like a Timothy Dalton Bond

All We Are Saying, Is Give Pierce A Chance! :dude:

No, to be serious, Pierce Brosnan was an excellent Bond. One of the best! To fire him and replace him with a total nobody was the biggest mistake they've ever made.

I don't want or like Craig. I would have prefered Clive Owen or Julian Mcmahon

You know real men. I will be boycotting the movie because the cast is miscast and they are going to screw up the whole Bing genre
