KIMIMELA 1 Posted September 9, 2005 I am constructing an Animal Rights campaign as part as my documentary project at college. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any sad songs I could play to it, as quicktime or an mp3. I was thinking of the 'My heart will go on' song on the Titanic. Any other suggestions? My campaign will only be 2-3 minutes long and I may even be allowed to show you guys after. (Probably by e-mail).
VaBeachGuy 12 Posted September 9, 2005 What's the theme that you are looking for? When I had to put my 17 year old dog to sleep I made a video using the song "One More Day" but that may not fit the theme you want to use.

Mostly cruelty in general. I'd like something that represents the sadness and pain. I'm going to use my teddies as 'actors' and 'interviewees'. (I'm going to put voice overs on). I might use some photographs and facts and I'm looking for sad music, like what you've mentioned. I was just wondering if you know anywhere I can download the song? Odo 0 Posted September 9, 2005 There was a song back in the 70's about a girl loosing her horse in a snowstorm and dying looking for it Think the name of the song was Wildfire Shows the feelings people have for there pets. Also a song about a dog who drowned and how distraut his owner was. Think it was called Shannon. Wow we had some depressing songs in the 70's
TransporterMalfunction 1 Posted September 9, 2005 I think that the song "Born Free" is fantastic and has been used so effectively in animal rights campaigns before. I don't think it is necessarily a sad song but when considered with issues relating to animal rights can be ironic, and in turn sad.
KIMIMELA 1 Posted September 9, 2005 If you watch this, it is going to be similar to what I am going to do. Cruel Zoo
youbroughtheryouRiker 2 Posted September 11, 2005 It's a song that drags on for way too long, but it seems the one you want is "Old Shep." Elvis did a version of it early in his career. I personally don't care much for it, but as far as animals having feelings and all, right up your alley.

I remember that song, made me cry, especially "maybe he'll find another, with a shady tree" And the horse was Wildfire. "She ran calling Wildfire" Shannon is an unusual and I think more emotional song.

KIMIMELA 1 Posted September 12, 2005 Cara, I'm sorry, I've not been able to locate who sang that song for you. 351700[/snapback] That is absolutely fine, I do not mind. Thank you anyway. My friend recommended "What my heart wants to say" by Gareth Gates. I was a huge GG fan, so I'll see if I can use that. I have it on my CD.
youbroughtheryouRiker 2 Posted September 17, 2005 "Shannon" was by the songwriter Henry Gross. He sang it. Still recommend "Old Shep". Sir Paul, to date, has not released any animal rights' music, to my knowledge. How about "Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron?

SpaceHippie 0 Posted September 26, 2005 (edited) I can think of 2 songs by PETA suporter Paul McCartney : "Wildlife" (from the Wings CD "Wildlife") While take a walk thru an African park one day, I saw a sign say, "The animals have the right of way". Wild life, whatever happened to, Wild life, the animals in the zoo? We're breathing a lot, a lot of political nonsense in the air. You're making it hard for the people who live in there. You're moving so fast, but, baby, you know not where. Wild life, (wild life), what's gonna happen to Wild life, (wild life), the animals in the zoo? You'd better stop, there's animals ev'rywhere, And man is the top, an animal too, And, man, you just got to care. Wild life, what's gonna happen to, Wild life, the animals in the zoo? You're breathing a lot of polical nonsense in the air. Wild life, (wild life), what's gonna happen to (what's gonna happen to) (what's gonna happen to) Wild life, (wild life), the animals in the zoo? (what's gonna happen to) (what's gonna happen to) Wild life, what ever happened to? What ever happened to? "Looking For Changes" (from the McCartney CD "Off The Ground" I Saw A Cat With A Machine In His Brain The Man Who Fed Him Said He Didn't Feel Any Pain I'd Like To See That Man Take Out That Machine And Stick It In His Own Brain You Know What I Mean I Saw A Rabbit With Its Eyes Full Of Tears The Lab That Owned Her Had Been Doing It For Years Why Don't We Make Them Pay For Every Last Eye That Couldn't Cry Its Own Tears Do You Kmow What I Mean When I Tell You That We'll All Be Looking For Changes Changes In The Way We Treat Our Fellow Creatures And We Will Learn How To Grow Well I Tell You That We'll All Be Looking For Changes Changes In The Way We Treat Our Fellow Creatures And We Will Learn How To Grow When We're Looking For Changes I Saw A Monkey That Was Learning To Choke A Guy Beside Him Gave Him Cigarettes To Smoke And Everytime That Monkey Started To Cough The Bastard Laughed His Head Off Do You Know What I Mean When I Tell You That We'll All Be Looking For Changes Changes In The Way We Treat Our Fellow Creatures And We Will Learn How To Grow When We're Looking For Changes We're Looking For Changes We're Looking For Changes Edited September 26, 2005 by SpaceHippie
