This is the point where Season Two really began to pick up after a few dud episodes.

Both plotlines here were compelling.

The relationship between Riker and his father was completely believable and realistic. Also, the idea that eventually they would choose to vent their frustrations in combat isn't as far-fetched as it may seem.

Father and son, giant egos, but with honest feelings behind it.

You could certainly understand why Riker would feel hostility towards his father, but you could understand Kyle's regret over having no relationship with his son.

Even the third plot with Kyle and Pulaski was a nice touch.

The second plot with Worf was also interesting as it further developed the Klingons as a "Samurai-Type" culture, deep and rich.

Also of note, Riker turns down another crappy starship. Trust me, I've seen what the Aries looked like. He made the right choice. LOL

Excellent episode.

Rating = 5

3. Decent episode, but nothing that drew me in. The Rikers were an okay plotline, but I myself just couldn't feel much either way for either character. The Worf plotline was cool, except for Wesley being the one to figure it all out.
