HRH The KING 0 Posted May 29, 2005 Another good episode. It developed Geordi's character as a commander of the ship, and also it elaborated on Dr. Crusher's character while she was caring for Picard. I like the idea of a weapons system so powerful it killed practically everyone who used it and who it was used against. Though I wish the actual weapon system that was hunting the Enterprise and the crew members down on the planet was better designed. It looked ridiculous. I also liked the mention that Riker had turned down the Drake to become XO on the Enterprise. A number of people deride the idea that he would turn down so many ships to stay on the Enterprise, but I think it makes sense. He turned down all the crap ships until he was offered a good one. Patience after all, is a virtue, and it paid off. This episode gets a rating of
Takara_Soong 4 Posted June 6, 2005 An uneven episode at times. The scenes on the ship of Geordi in command were interesting. Seeing him deal with that uppity officer who wants to take command and then making the decision to separate the saucer section did show the potential of the character. Riker telling the image of Paul Rice that his ship was the Lollipop and that it is a good ship was amusing.
Stephen of Borg 2 Posted February 9, 2006 A good episode that shows us what happens when our weapons become too perfect, everyone dies. I thought it was real good. I can't help but feel sad when I watch this knowing that Vincent Schiavelli is no longer with us. **** out of *****
