Another solid 5. The passage of time almost eluded completely since it seems the creatures had extremely long life spans. Loved the showdown with Bele. Great camerawork there. Good philosophizing. The only thing disappointing was that we never learn the source of the conflict. Closest we get to it is which side the white and black were on. Probably race hatred, but it wasn't the best portrayal, imo. Still, a solid 5.

A classic episode showcasing the effects of racism and bigotry. Well acted by all. The first time we see the destruct sequence. The same exact sequence used in "Search For Spock". Nice tie-in there. A solid 5.

Bele: It is obvious to the most simpleminded that Lokai is of an inferior breed.

Spock: The obvious visual evidence, Commissioner, is that he is of the same breed as yourself.

Bele: Are you blind, Commander Spock? Well, look at me. Look at me!

Kirk: You're black on one side and white on the other.

Bele: I am black on the right side.

Kirk: I fail to see the significant difference.

Bele: Lokai is white on the right side. All of his people are white on the right side.

It was a episode with a simple moral. Spock and Kirk looked in disbelief at another culture's ridiculous racism. :superhappy:

Even on this planet today people would be so much better off if they just stopped to think we as human beings all have 2 lungs, 1 heart, we all bleed red and we all have families that we care about and love very much. :whistling:
