youbroughtheryouRiker 2 Posted April 11, 2007 I gave this a four, but it's a weak four. Truthfully, there's one thing I didn't like about this episode: the energy being. And since that was such a HUGE part of the story, it ruins it badly enough to drag it down almost to a three. The whole premise involving it didn't work for me. Other than that, the acting, the writing, the moments of suspense, the camera work, all pretty solid, even the dilithium emergency necessitating the ceasing of hostilities. The funniest part: Kang slapping Kirk on the back a little harder than he probably should have, but Kirk trying to laugh it off. You'd swear that was an outtake that got left in. But yeah, the energy thing dropped it a whole point. 4.
Kor37 9 Posted April 11, 2007 Pretty good episode that introduced one of the "Big Three" Klingons. The usual lack of funds for F/X of course resulted in yet another alien being being just a light. DeForest Kelly got to give one of his best performances with that speech to Kirk and Spock. Susan Johnson , who played Mara, went on to become a regular on "Dallas" later on. GhostofMajorHayes 10 Posted September 16, 2007 An interesting concept- a creature that feeds off the violent emotions of others. The fisticuffs and sword fighting make this a good ep. Bonus points for introducing Mara, the first female Klingon.
