who do you consider to be some of the best song writers?

 

I think Tom Petty, the Beatles, Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, U2 and Aerosmith are very good writers that have hit after hit of fantastic songs.

 

forgive my "Writters" title flaw. lol, I know it's only one T. I guess I pushed it too many times lol.

Lennon/McCartney would top my list. I'm not sure what order I would put them in but Elton John/Bernie Taupin, Paul Anka, Paul Williams, Irving Berlin, Gershwin brothers, Duke Ellington, Oscar Hammerstein, Diane Warren and Bob Dylan would all be included. I'm sure I missed quite a few others too.
