What's Your Favorite Pie

The worst thing about the East Coast is no Marie Calendar's restaurants. Fresh peach pie in season was to die for. I voted Key Lime - it's actually one I can make.

Oh the memories of when I was a kid, an aunt would fix ME banana cream pies with those little Nilla Vanilla wafers. :blink: You do not have that on the list :) so I nulled my vote.

I nulled my vote.. Blackberry pie.. :) My Grandma makes it.. At family camp outs every year we go to the same spot and pick blackberrys till our fingers hurt just so our Grandma will make blackberry pie.. :blink:

My grandma used to make blackberries and dumplings - I guess you'd consider it something like a cobbler. Unfortunately no one learned from her how to do it. OMG, I still think about it sometimes.

Chocolate Pecan Pie :blink:

 

1 stick of butter, melted

4 eggs

2- 5oz cans- Evaporated milk

3 cups sugar

6 T cocoa

2 teaspoon, vanilla

2 cups pecans, chopped.

Two unbaked, deep dish pie crusts.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the ingredients, adding pecans last and pour into the unbaked, pricked crusts. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until center is just set. Top will look crumbly. Can be frozen. Makes two pies....obviously.

My grandma makes the best lemon meringue pie you have ever tasted. I haven't had a cake for my birthday in about 6 years cause I want her pie instead. I'll even take it over and ice cream cake and I LOVE ice cream cake.
