He Who Shall Not Be Named 2 Posted May 18, 2008 One of my Army instructors said "It's not about winning the race, it's how you look crossing the finish line." Well I had a frustrating event. On Tuesday I saw a hit-and-run with an injury. A man walked into the street and was run over and the driver sped off. Granted he may have been jaywalking, but that still doesn't excuse the driver for not stopping. But when I called 911 I got a busy signal. This happened outside a Jack in the Box so I ran in to have the staff call 911 so I could give aid to the man (rather than wait on the phone), and guess what? No English. I told them to call 911. They tried to take my order! I finally had to speak to a manager just to place an emergency call and get back to the victim. Based on this I am now of the opinion that people who don't speak the predominant language of their location are a safety risk to the rest of us. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
