ARMS 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I currently work as a Lifeguard/Fitness instructor at Liverpool John Moores University. I have worked in two other leisure facilities before this. I've applied for the army as a Combat Medical Technician, the only thing that may prevent me getting in is the medical. If that fails i'll be hearing about a plumbing apprenticeship in August. If that falls through i'll be applying for several Medical and Lab apprenticeships. Last resort is going back to college in September to retake my Maths GCSE and do an AS level in Biology. Ace 0 Posted July 7, 2004 <-- Happily unemployed. I've decided to wait another year or two to get any sort of actual job (had lots of odd-jobs for acquaintances); I'm too busy during the school yr at college, and there's too much to do at home during the summer. After graduation = real estate.

That's what I want to do It's great fun! Make sure you do well and school now, and brace yourself for some hard work in college. Among physics majors, there's about an 80-90% attrition rate - it's very competitive, but very rewarding.

Yeah, I'm taking physics for the first time next year *crosses fingers* I'm also taking an aviation course, and I'm trying to find a computer science course and astronomy course. Eventually I want to end up at NASA Luckily, they apparently have an internship program over the summers, so I am going to try and get in over the summer either next year or right after I graduate. Odie 0 Posted July 10, 2004 (edited) As you can see my personal pic I am in the Navy as a Quartermaster. Right now I have a shore duty billet. I am on a tug that helps in harbor movements. Click for Spoiler: Now I'm a Navy Corpsman/ Field Med Tech. Yeah cool Marine toys. Sometimes the perks outweigh the risks : ( I know someone who doesn't want to hear that!) I really don't care if you play with the Marines' toys. I really don't like the fact that you might be in one of the units thats attached to the Marines. I can live with it, because its your job. Jim Phaserman 0 Posted July 10, 2004 Hey, Odie, that's why I have a job. when the Marines need alittle help, they call a Navy ship for some muscles, and we drop some 5" shells on the bad guys, keeping Doc and his Marine buddies safe. (By the way, I have a few friends in the Marines who are very thankful for the job that Doc and his fellow corpsmen do.)
RikerChick 5 Posted July 11, 2004 Currently a stay at home mom. Used to waitress (the only job I miss because I just love having new people to talk to every night). I worked at Target for a while on the flow team, 10:00 pm to 8:00 am unloading the trucks and stocking. I've also managed a Piercing Pagoda and Victoria's Secret. Please don't get me wrong I would not be very happy if he went to one of the units. That dosen't mean I won't be there for him if he does go. Trust me I know how gratefully the Marines are to the corpsman.
