Jeanway intercepts ILikeSeven on deck. " Um, Oh, she's lying down in my quarters ILS, she's feeling a bit under the weather, cook gave her a nice hot, buttered rum and she felt sleepy so I took her to my cabin." " Sick, is she? " ILS asked Jeanway. " Naw, just one a those Ladies Things, go mind your business and let her be for a while." Jeanway replied nervously. " Why don't ya join the others below, the game should be startin up soon." ILike Seven goes below and joins the others. " Whew, that was a close one." Jeanway says quietly to herself as she looks across the deck of the Batavia to the deck of the Bonaventure, which at this time is rocking a bit more than the other two ships she is tied to. " All is going as planned" She says quietly to herself with a big smile on her face :P

Again, this time in the passageway, Jeanway intercepts ILikeSeven in an obvious drunken stupor, talking to himself about something, she comes up behind him and lifts him to his feet, since he's obviously delusional, and imagining all sorts of things. " Now, now, ILS, everything is alright, you just took a wrong turn on your way to the run. Come on back to the game now and lay off the rum, for once." ILikeseven allowed himself to be escorted back to the Wardroom where the card game was still going, great guns. Two sailors plopped him back down in his chair and had orders from Jeanway to keep a close eye on his drinking. " Where is she?" He sobbed as he played the next hand, tears streaming down his cheeks.

~ A Friendly Game ~

Standing on the deck of the USS Elusive Fenriz watches the sun disappear below the horizon while he paces impatiently. Feeling the weight of the full purse at his belt he wonders exactly how many coins he's going to have to lose tonight to keep the Batavia's captain occupied. Having informed Riker and Worf of the plan Fenriz is glad he decided to invite Crunch and Snader to the game "Spread the hurt around a little more." he thinks to himself. Walking to the rises Fenriz goes below deck to the officer's mess, Worf and Riker are there along with Crunch and Snader. Turning to Snader Fenriz asks "Is everything prepared?" Staring at Fenriz bugged eyed the man stammers until Crunch elbows him sharply in the ribs. "Y-Yes sir. Everything just like you said, fresh vittles and good rum." Snader's eyes lingered on the bottles of rum sitting on the table. Plucking a grape from a silver bowl on the table Fenriz motions towards the door "Go above deck and bring our guest down here when he arrives, go with him Crunch." Nearly walking on top of one another the pair scramble for the rises. Fenriz watches them go shaking his head, closing the door behind them. Turning back to face Riker and Worf he studies his two companions, Riker is smiling like always while Worf is characteristically stone-faced. Looking at the Klingon's boots Fenriz notices they are freshly scrubbed and still a little damp, smiling broadly at the Klingon Fenriz bites into the grape.

Waiting for their guest to arrive the three pass the time idly. Riker shuffles the deck of cards with a practiced hand, amusing himself by spreading them out in a fan and then back with one smooth motion of his hand. Worf sits in his chair and fingers his beard, "No doubt planning his retaliation for my latest prank." thinks Fenriz while examining the bottles of rum, pulling the corks out with a pop and sniffing the contents. "If Crunch or Snader switched this with that rot-gut they drink I'll hang them from a yard arm." he mutters to himself. After several minutes the sound of boots can be heard clomping on the rises and someone knocks on the door. "Enter." commands Riker rising to his feet. Opening the door Snader introduces the guest of the evening, "Sir, er...Sirs...Captain ILikeSeven of the Batavia." Extending his hand to the Dutchman Fenriz smiles broadly at the man "I hope you brought a full purse Captain, keep your eye on Commander Riker he's like a bloodthirsty pirate when it comes to cards." Laughing out loud Riker extends his hand as well "Only when I'm losing at the table Sir, and this is Mr. Worf, do not be concerned with his stern appearance, he's actually smiling at the moment." Nodding his head slightly to ILikeSeven Worf greets him, "Charmed."

his expression never wavering. Fenriz gestures to the table, "Gentlemen may we pour ourselves a drink and deal the cards, you all have coin that belongs to me tonight I think." Chuckling they all take seats around the table, while Fenriz pours rum for their guest Riker shuffles the cards. Offering ILikeSeven some of the fresh fruit Fenriz asks, "Captain, would you be offended if these two joined us in the game?" motioning his head to Crunch and Snader who are waiting by the door like eager puppies. Without even looking at the pair he answers "Not at all, as long as the have full purses." Crunch and Snader quickly seat themselves at the table between Worf and Fenriz and help themselves to the rum.

After a few hands the game settles into a comfortable pace, Fenriz notes that Riker and Worf were folding more than would be normal for either of them, winning occasionally but making sure the pile of coins in front of ILikeSeven grew at a steady pace. Fenriz knew this must be especially frustrating for Riker who as far as Fenriz knew had never folded in a game of poker in his life until this evening. If it was difficult for him Riker wasn't showing any sign "Now that's a poke face" thought Fenriz. ILikeSeven seemed to be enjoying himself, it was clear to Fenriz that the man was new to the game of poker but Riker, Worf, and himself were doing their best to increase the man's winnings. For their part it was clear to Fenriz that Crunch and Snader weren't that good at card either but the rum the two were drinking seemed to have dulled their senses to their steadily emptying purses. Laughing as he won another hand ILikeseven helped himself to an orange from the bowls of fruit. "Fortune is with you tonight Sir." laughs Riker always jovial when he's playing cards. "Aye she is." agrees ILikeSeven. Draining his cup Crunch stands up, wobbling on unsteady legs, "Fortune Bah! Yer a damn cheat you bastard, no man wins like you been winnin' without somethin' crafty up his sleeves." slurred the drunk sailor. Quickly calming his friend Snader pulls him back down into his chair and pours him another drink, "Sorry about that Sirs, he gets a bit worked up sometimes, a little rum'll calm his nerves." Pressing the mug into Crunch's hands Snader then refills his own and the two of them down their drinks in one swallow. "Shall we have another hand Gentlemen?" offers Riker. "Aye." grumbles Crunch, apparently sated for the moment. Fenriz watched the incident quietly, sitting on the edge of his seat he was ready to grab Crunch and drag the man to the brig to sleep it off when Snader took his friend in hand. Taking another grape from a bowl he chewed it. With his rum sitting by his left hand untouched, he looks over his cards and saw he had three kings and then looking at the sizable heap of coins in the center of the table sighs to himself " I fold." he says.

Hours roll by as the game continues, IlikeSeven continues to win and now has a small fortune in front of him, while the rest of the players are growing weary. Several empty rum bottles litter the table with the drunken pair of sailor beside Fenriz doing their best to finish the last one. Folding again Fenriz rubs his eyes while Crunch roaring drunk now tosses another dollar into the center of the table. "I'll see you an' raise you a dollar, my head tells me you ain't got no cards in that hand. No man can win all night like you been winnin'" declares Crunch. "Very well my friend," says a smiling ILikeSeven,"I see you and call, four queens." Putting his cards on the table Crunch now realizes that his pair of sixes are not a winning hand but with rum flowing through his veins he is ready for a fight. "You stinkin' cheat!" he roars as he trys to dive over the table at the Dutchman. Grabbing him by the collar Snader attempts to stop him but is yanked off of his feet in crashes into the table, sending a rum bottle flying into Worf's lap, standing up the Klingon looks down at the large wet spot now all over his pants, with a roar he grabs Snader and throws him against a wall. Crunch slides across the table head first into ILikeSeven knocking him to the floor and falling on top of him. Pulling the drunken sailor off of ILikeSeven, Riker trys to hold him back while Crunch flails his arms wildly. Fenriz helps his guest to his feet, and turns around to glare at Crunch. Insanely drunk Crunch begins to scream for his partner "Snader, you cowardly sot! Help me out lad! They're trying to rob us blind!" Riker attempts to calm the man down "Stand down! You're drunk, stand down or I'll have you slapped in irons!" Getting to his feet Snader rushes past Worf and tackles Riker. Crunch, Snader, and Riker go down in a heap on the deck. "Get off me! You damn fool!" demands Riker wrestling with Snader on the floor. Crunch now free of Riker's grip, scrambles on his hands and knees across the floor and grabs onto ILikeSeven's leg and begins to gnaw at his boot. Swearing in Dutch ILikeSeven kicks at the sailor locked on his leg with his other foot. Fenriz pulls Snader off of Riker, spinning the drunk around Fenriz starts to yell at him when ILikeSeven trips over Riker and falls into Crunch who in turn knocks Fenriz over the table. Falling backwards over the table he sends bottles, cards, cups, and food flying. Rolling off of the table and crashing on the floor Fenriz looks under the table and sees Crunch with a deathgrip on the Dutchman's leg, still biting at the man's boot. ILikeSeven smashes one and then another bottle over the crazed man's head but to no end. Getting slowly to his feet Fenriz sees Worf pin Snader against the wall with one hand and help Riker up with the other, at that moment ILikeSeven trips over Crunch and crashes into Riker and Worf. All of them go down, knocking the table over with a loud crash.

The brawl in the mess now attracts other sailors who rush in to join in the chaos. Crunch intent on his target has wrapped himself around ILikeSeven's legs while the man pummels him in the head with oranges. Riker orders some of the crew to break up the mess but is knocked over again by Crunch and ILikeSeven who are rolling around on the floor. One of the new arrivals stupidly swings at Worf who smiles and then throws the man across the room. Grabbing Snader by the collar like a sack of grain, Worf drags him over to the door. "You men! Grab him!" orders Fenriz pointing to Crunch. The men pile on Crunch who thrashes around like a wild animal screaming "Damn cheat!" over and over again. "Bring him above deck." orders Riker, his jacket torn open and his sleeve ripped. With little trouble Worf hauls Snader up the rises while the sailor makes feeble noises. Crunch has no intention of going easily and it takes a half dozen men to drag him kicking and screaming above deck. Helping ILikeSeven to his feet Fenriz offers his apologies "I'm terribly sorry for this Captain, I had no idea this would happen." leading the man up the rises the two of them reach the deck in time to see Crunch break loose from his captors and dive at ILikeSeven, sending the two of them with Fenriz tumbling down the rises. An all out riot erupts on the deck of the Elusive as order collapses. Worf tosses sailors over the side of the ship as they rush at him, the powder monkey Thomas and his friend Pip scurry around the deck between the legs of the combatants, stopping to pick the pockets of unconscious sailors. Riker leaps down the rises and pulls Crunch off of ILikeSeven and together with Fenriz they haul the man back up to the deck and toss him roughly over the balustrade into the water. "Well that should calm him down somewhat the lousy sot." says Fenriz dusting his jacket off. Turning around Riker and Fenriz see the entire deck of the Elusive in turmoil as sailors beat each other senseless across the entire deck of the ship, Jeanway stands at the balustrade at the aft of the ship screaming at the crew "Stop! Stop you damn heathens or I'll throw the lot of you into the brig!."

~~ The Incident ~~

After a full night of complete chaos aboard the Elusive, fighting everywhere. She climbed atop of the wheelhouse and looked out over her ship in total disbelief. The sun was just beginning to peek up over the horizon. Casting a long shadow across the scene below her. As it began to brighten she could see fists flying everywhere, sailors getting tossed overboard at an alarming rate. The water around the portside of the ship teaming with bodies, some swimming and some still fighting. A constant barrage of curses fell on her ears. She had had enough.

" STOP! she yelled. Nothing happened. " AS CAPTAIN OF THIS VESSEL I COMMAND EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU TO STAND DOWN IMMEDIATLY!" Again nothing. It actually seemed to escalate, to her surprise. She scanned the deck with her eyes to see if she could see, Worf or Riker or Fenriz. They were nowhere that she could see from where she stood.

Suddenly, a loud, nearly deafening crash of what sounded much like thunder shook the ship and the Ocean. All three ships began to roll and bang into each other. Then another hit. Again the ships were slammed up against each other, the sound of wood scraping together and creaking filled the air. Again, another loud boom was heard and felt, but with this one an enormous flash of orange red light filled the sky and everyone stopped and turned to the North and looked up at the sky. Above them a just to the North, a large what appeared to be a looking glass seemed to be materializing right in front of their eyes. They all stood and watched in total shock as this looking glass grew larger and forebodeing. As it grew, bolts of lightning eminated from it's center and in the middle of it, the glass began to ripple and wave like the surface of the ocean. It was a looking glass, but not a looking glass, it looked like the Ocean, but it wasn't the Ocean hanging there in the sky. When suddely an object came bursting though the center and flew right over the three ships, buzzing and roaring like a wounded animal, missing them by only a few yards and flew right into the island, bursting into flames. Then a huge explosion followed, sending bits of objects flying in all directions and sending that entire side of the island up in flames.

~~ Bye to Borabora ~~

Every eye on the Elusive was fixed on the burning island. Not a word was said. They all rushed to the port rail and stood there agape. Not know what had just happened, they all turned and looked at Jeanway still standing atop of the wheelhouse cabin. She too just in shock and motionless. A small ship which had landed on the beach sometime during the night, it's sails on fire. The sailors too just standing on the deck watching the flames. As they began to notice their ship was burning, buckets of water began to be thrown up onto the masts and sails. They got the fire out within a short time. { Sorry nik } As the island burned large groups of dark skinned natives could be seen running in every direction from the flames from Jeanway's vantage. She turned her eyes to the West and to her total shock, in the distance she could see those very same six ships she had seen at Monkey Island, now heading straight towards her, and her companion ships, the Batavia and the Bonaventure. It must be the French, coming to join the frigates HeadBorg has been fighting. She turned her head to the East and saw those two very frigates coming towards them around the NorthEast side of the island. She turned to look at the Bonaventure and HeadBorg, who was no where in sight. Along side her was another ship, also arriving sometime during the night tied up along her Starboard side. Now 4 ships secured with line, together here. Jeanway's mind was spinning. She climbed down a began yelling for all lines to be untied. The sailors began to run to the starboard side of the ship and untied them all. ILikeSeven and his crew pell melled over the rail in a great rush and began doing the same, lossening the Batavia from the Bonaventure and the other ship she was tied to. " Get that mainsail up!" she yelled. "We're getting the Bloody H*LL out of here , NOW!" ILikeSeven followed Jeanway's lead and all sails up the two ships pulled away and headed North away from Borabora. Leaving the Bonaventure and the two new arrivals to battle this out with the French.

After disposing of the last English body, I returned to my quarters took another hot bath, changed into a soft cotton gauze shirt and new pants, evening was approaching and I was at the mirror, straight razor in hand when a knock came at my cabin door, I answered..."enter" and who should appear but Jeanway's sister..

"what the devil, she doing here" I thought. We made polite conversation for several minutes on the sofa, everwhile she inched closer and closer...that "hungry smile" on her very attractive face...she shared these "qualities" with her sister...but she wasn't Jeanway..soon I found myself being chased around my quarters....trying to keep away from her...then she cornered me...and began rubbing against parts of my body that had not been rubbed in months.....suddenly there was a loud boom.....I thought it was the French or that Dutchman...I opened the port hatch and stuck my head out to see what was going on...saw nothing except the most "horrific storm" approaching....Seska continued to "paw at me" and exclaimed with a pouty/ half playful look on her face...Alright if I must throw myself at you!" and with that she tore open her blouse exposing her breasts and ran toward me....I stepped to the side in suprise..and she flew thru the open window...and landed in the water below....with a scream. I leaned out the window and shouted down...."Sorry, Trust we can do this again soon!" and ordered a sailor to pick her up and row here back to the Elusive.

~ No Longer A Game ~

As the Elusive and the Batavia headed to the north under full sail Fenriz looked back at Borabora and the fire that was spreading along the edge of the beach. Whatever that...contraption was it had certainly stopped crews of all three ships in their tracks, the arrival of the French frigates and the surette from Monkey Island had jarred the stunned sailors out of their stupor and sent them scambling to get the sails unfurled and the Elusive out of harm's way. "You there," Commander Riker called to a scaggly looking sailor "Raise the colors, I don't want those French ships firing on us by mistake." Watching the flag raised and catch the wind Fenriz looked over to the Batavia and could see it was also flying it's colors. Walking to the aft of the ship to join Jeanway beside the wheel Fenriz stopped to grab the powder monkey Pip by the arm. Intent on cleaning out the pocket of a still unconscious sailor, the boy resisted until he was yanked to his feet. "Get below lad, Now." Fenriz said. Without further protest the lad scampered down the rises on his way to the magazine, Fenriz could hear his pockets jingle as he went.

Climbing to the deck over the wheelhouse Fenriz stood beside Jeanway. "What the devil was that thing that fell from the sky?" he asked her. "I haven't a clue and right now I don't have time to worry about that." she answered. As the Elusive drew nearer to the six French Man of Wars sailing from the West, their gunports open and the cannons ready, Fenriz counted two frigates and four Man of Wars in the group. Turning and looking to the Northeast he could see that the two frigates sailing around the tip of the island had already begun firing at the Bonaventure, white smoke from their cannons wreathing the two frigates. The fire raging on the island was throwing thick black smoke into the air, hiding much of that part of the island from view. The small ship drawn up on the beach could not be seen and Fenriz hope that it's crew got to safety. Remembering the horrible stories his Irish grandfather told him of the English Fenriz watched the French warships sail towards the English ship and found that he hoped the French gunners aim was true.

~~ AMELIA EARHART'S LAST FLIGHT ~~ JULY 2, 1937 :P

A ship out on the Ocean, just a speck against the sky

Amelia Earhart flying that sad day

With her partner, Captain Noonan, on the second of July

Her plane fell in the Ocean far away.

There's a beautiful field

Far away in a land that is fair

Happy Landings to you Amelia Earhart

Farewell, first Lady of the Air.

She radioed position and said that all was well

Althought the fuel within the tanks was low

But they'd land on Howland Island

To refuel her monoplane

Then on their trip around the world they'd go.

Well a half an hour later an S.O.S. was heard

The signal weak, but still her voice was brave

Over shark infested waters her plane went down that night

In the blue Pacific to a watery grave. :P

Well, now you've heard my story of that awful tragedy

We pray that she might fly home safe again.

Oh many years to come though others blaze a trail across the Sea

We'll never forget Amelia and her plane.

~~ QUAYSIDE ~~

The nearest anyone ever came to taking a sea voyage on a sailing ship in the days of sail was in their imagiantion. Standing on a 'Quay' and watching the great white birds of wood, hemp and canvas coming from distant lands with their exotic cargoes, or heading out to who knows where. The bustle and excitememnt of a harbour has a magic, even today; how much more so in the days when one could become a part of it, mingling with the sailors speaking in strange tongues and wearing strange clothes. There were no wire fences and guard dogs then and the life on the waterfront around even the largest ships must have been much more intimate.

~batavia,s log new entry~

after that long and painfull fight on the Elusive(my bones and muscels still hurting) we or i saw what happend to the island of borabora, i personaly think it was a sign of the devil, or could it be an omen, o dear lord what does this mean, are you giving me a sign, or is it that d*mn rum which gives me this delousion. as is stumble over the decks of the Elusive i hear another explosion, this time it is not from the island but from the sea, as whissle tone follows and a cannonball impacts on my ship one of the masts is breaking down, i screamed to jeanway"help me my ship is under attack" i was to much under the influance of the rum to see who was atacking us, could it be the brittisch or the french. No it was the "Amsterdam"fireing on us, OMG i waited to long Hangon must have think we to side of the english, we have to get out of here and fast, but wait, the "Amsterdam"is faster than mine, but(with a grin in his face) in am stronger.... GUNMAN... load the port guns at once, i jumped onto my ship, the crew started to untie the ships, the forward sail were raised, and we turned our portsaid to the "Amsterdam"

Okey men let that damn navyship have it all, the gunners aim their cannons with gunpowderdcannonball at the "Amsterdam" and before i called "fire" i saw Hangon trough my eyeglass standing on his deck with a look in his eyes which said"he woudn,t"

FIRE............

Our cannons spoke... 15 gunpowderloaded canonballs hit it,s target and as the island exploded, so did the "Amsterdam" i thought to myself now there is no return, the dutch will hunt me now, if i want to survive i wil have to follow Jeanway now, the man looked at me and my first officer asked me "sir"yes "we shot at our own ppl, did we do the right thing?"

No we didnt, but we had no choice, it was them or us

"SIR" a crewman yelled"sir there is someone in the water, shall i pick him up?, ofcourse i said he must be rescued, but that "he" turns out to be a "she"

No sooner than Seska throw herself out my window, the look-out called out "hostiles on the horizon" and

the officer of the watch....began preparations to "put her in the wind".....I grabbed my boots and hopped up-stairs pushing them on......I reached the deck and all-hands were busy....very busy.....but years of "drills" and brutal discipline had honed them into a "team".....almost making the Bonaventure a living creature...a deadly shark. It was then that my sergeant at arms leaned in close against me and whispered while repeatedly glancing down toward my groan...Capt. in all the years I've know you..I've known "Battle" excites you.....but I didn't know it excited you that much! I dropped my gaze and noticed Seska's handwork was still effecting me. I smiled and yelled over to "number one" to abandon that "french turd bucket" and get his rear and those men aboard the newly captured English Merchant.....undamaged....and loaded with "chinese treasure" from Hong Kong.... The men had already cast of the ropes that bound us, the anchor was never dropped...the massive Elusive anchoring us still. It was then, that the first shots fell....long, then closer....the french were ranging us in. The smoke from the burning island was making visibility difficult....but was also "back lighting" us....off to the side a "strange" cannon fight had begun...between the Batavia and a new comer....I looked threw the glass...just as the Batavia fired.....MY LORD! It's the "amsterdam"...or should I say...."Was"......I have no idea what this means...only that we were all in the "same boat" bottled up like this here In this lagoon....the French were at WAR with Everyone in europe.....they would even fire on the Elusive if it got in their way, simply send her to the bottom....deny it was here. I look toward WEAREBORG on his ship.....what was he up to over there? Then I turned my glass toward the Sea....thru it ..I saw the "Flash"....i yell...."incoming!.." and count to myself...1002......1003.....1004...1005....the deck of the captured frigate...splinters as the cannon ball slams through the deck...." Damn 8-pounders.....But do they have "our range" or just lucky......our little "armada" had turned...battle sails raised..and was moving out of the lagoon...Would we clear the Reefs in time....hard telling...Bonaventure was in front, WeAREBorg right behind, the captured Merchantman bringing up the rear......but what the BLAZES! The Unmanned captured french frigate was MOVING! not only moving but Moving "unnaturally fast!" it was overtaking us! taking the POINT! I looked to WEAREBORG, for this must have been his work, this time with a "grateful smile" and the men cheered! I looked back to his ship, which he was sailing BY Himself...and he found the time to tip his "peacock" feathered hat and bow in gentlemanly fashion!

~~ In the 'nik' of Time ~~

As the Elusive, pulled by the Easterly tradewinds, headed NorthWest, away from the island, Jeanway watched from the stern, Fenriz at her side. The French were closing in on the remaining ships, pummeling them with hot-shots,steam rising fro the Ocean as they hit the water all around the ships hulls, as if there weren't enough smoke from that flying object that hit the island. It was difficult for her to see exactly who was doing what to who for the dense, black smoke. As she watched, a pigeon came flying out of the cloud of smoke, coming directly towards the Elusive flapping frantically. She landed square on Jeanway's shoulder. She untied the message from it's leg, it read: 'Batavia no longer flies flag of Holland, need American flag, please respond, quickly'. Without a second's hestitation, Jeanway tore down the deck, knocking over sailors in her haste. Down the rises to the ship's stores. "Lwxana, help me find a flag, quickly." She said to the cook. " Aye, Captain." she answered and joined Jeanway in the storeroom pulling off the tops of crates and searching frantically for an American Flag." " Here Ma'am, it is one like this?" Lwxana said as she pulled the red, white and blue cloth out by a corner out of one of the crates. " Yes!" she exclaimed with much relief. Jeanway snatched it from her hand and ran as fast as she could back up on deck. " Get a boat down in the water, NOW." She ordered the group of sailors standing by the rail. They jumped into action and lowered a boat. Six sailors, now rowing frantically back towards Borabora. Just as, out of the smoke, emerged the Batavia's bow, cutting through the water at a fast clip, sails billowing. Jeanway stood up at the bow of the small boat and waved the American flag in the air, hoping someone on the Batavia would see her and snatch it from her grip. When Ilikeseven spotted her in the water, he knew instantly what she was doing. He ran to the lea side of his ship and with an out stretch grappler he hooked the flag from Jeanway's outstretched hand and pulled it back to him. He waved to Jeanway who now was also rowing franticly, trying to turn her small boat around to head back to the Elusive. A French 'Man-o-War' in hot pursuit, ILikeSeven quickly pulled down his Dutch flag and pullied up the American Flag. Turning his ship slightly towards the NorthWest, making the flag more visible to the pursuant French ship. The Captain seeing this abandoned his chase and turned back towards the island.

manning one of the French frigates, WEAREBORG sited four French frigates and two men of war. Having planned a quick escape, he incanted the spell of storms. Blazingly fast, he moved the spare empty ships and supplies with the rest of the allied ships. He summoned a magic portal. Hmm... that's a good name for the frigate...

The portal. The allied ships sailed out while the storms hit the enemy ships.

On the shores of the small island, next to the small oriental vessel, several black-clad ninja can be seen crouching near what appears to be long firebrands of the east. The stick several in the sand, running back to the ship for more. Behind them walks a relatively short, but very muscular samurai. He wears a black-lacquered breastplate with plating on his thighs, calves, and left arm. His right arm is bare, revealing a green dragon tattoo which spirals about his arm from his shoulder to his hand. Strapped to his left side are a long katana and the shorter wakazashi of the far east. His domed helmet is lacquered black with a gold crescent decoration at the front. His face is obscured by a black bamboo mask.

With the line of firebrands set up, the samurai shouts an order.

“Hajimete!” His voice is deep and resonant. The ninja at the end of the line strikes a single fuse, and the flare of the fuse can be seen as it travels to each of the small missiles stuck in the sand.

The fireworks ignite and take off, leaving colored trails as they fly. Some fly between Headborg’s ship and the French vessels, exploding into spiraling sparks and leaving thick clouds of red and green smoke. Some fly straight for the French ships, igniting their sails as they find their marks. Others fly into the air above the ships, raining sparks and hot ashes onto the sailors.

After the flaming spectacle, the samurai leaps into the small boat on shore. Several of the ninja draw short-swords, cutting the mooring lines. They push the boat into the water, and her six triangular sails are hoisted on rigid frames. She leans into the wind and glides quickly and smoothly to a single French vessel nearing the Bonaventure. At half-a-furlong, several of the ninja leap into the water, unnoticed in the confusion as the oriental vessel releases another barrage of firebrands.

Minutes later, nine ninja can be seen clamoring up the sides of the near French vessel. Leaping aboard, they release a handful of stars into the eye sockets of nearby crewmembers. Drawing swords, they quickly engage in a deft and deadly dance with the French crew. Three leap to the helm, where the captain stands. In a single motion, his throat is slit, and the helmsman is run through. Amidships, the ninja engage the crew with swift kick to the throats. Several pistols are drawn, only to be kicked aside in the melee.

In minutes, the deck of the French vessel is stained with blood, and several of her members lie dead or dying. Eight ninja leap back into the water, swimming back to the mysterious vessel of the east. The ninth remains aboard the French vessel, where he sets a small smoking sphere. He leaps into the water. Seconds later, the French vessel explodes in a shower of flame. Her splintered wood rains from the sky as the ninth ninja boards the vessel of the east.

The vessel turns and slowly drifts into the thick green smoke hanging over the water and shielding the Bonaventure from the French fleet. As the mysterious vessel fades into the smoke, the samurai standing astern bows quickly to the Bonaventure.

SolarWind decends upon the beach, creates a vortex that enables all to escape by forming smoke spouts around all the French ships, leaving them enough time to get a safe distance from the island, and out of range of their cannon fire. :(

~~ The Doldrums ~~

Approaching the Equator, we are entering the Doldrums. A region of the Earth, mainly over water, where the air is still and the heat in the tropics makes it unbearable. People on sailings ships were known to go mad or fling themselves overboard to certain death. This is what we are now dealing with.

As the morning sun climbed higher in the sky, the gentle breeze began to diminish...we had been sailing all night and this morning putting as much blue between ourselves and the French as possible, the crews were hot and tired, but I couldn't let them rest just yet..the French might be just behind us over the horizon. Some how in the dark and confusion of last night...we had gotten separated from our new "friends" it was just the Bonaventure, Portal, the English Merchantman and by the power of WEAREBORG's magic...the unmanned French Frigate. I tried to lighten the mood in my best "southern Belle" imitation accent:

"I just hate it.. when it's hot and sticky!" But the crew's attention was on the Portal.

I stepped over within ear shot of two mates and overhead the following debate:

"noowww, look a bit closer...he's a not a using no magic....see there..thems ropes! i tell ya..see 'em pulling..and there she goes.."

then the taller one, less convinced: Iee, but I still says he's using some 'trickery..or something...no one can sail a frigate bys 'emself!

"no I'ez telling you, e'z a sailing er by them ropes...!

"well, the lad's gotta b tired...all nite and all." and then noticing I was listening.

"Ay, Cap...you think sir, maybe we'zz should maybe spell em a bit?

I answered. "didn't you say earlier ...he was a demon or something...and no one would sail with him?"

"well sir, he kinda grows on you, that one does, and he don't seem to be really evil, and it's been a long night and all...it's the Christian thing, Cap-in.

"tell the truth sailor, how much you got on the rope theory?"

"ten ginny, capin!" his mate was quick to answer.

"Ok...then..off with the two of ya" and I ordered the helmsman to bring us along side the Portal. "Ten men on the double...give this man a hand.." and ten sailers swung across to the deck of the Portal by rope.

"my compliments on your most excellent seamanship, Sir" I yelled over to WEAREBORG....."do take a break there, and let the men handle her a while...drop over awhile for some food and drink at your leisure...We've got some 'talking" to do. With that I pulled a good pigeon from the cage, and walked back to my cabin, and drafted the following note to ADMIRAL JEANWAY:

DEAR madam, You left in such a frightful hurry, It seems you forgot your sister, do hope you recovered her well. Lost track of you in the "excitement" if you please dear......position, bearing,speed.....time of sighting. Regret can not be forthcoming with same, as this information might fall into hands of enemy. Most agreeably yours, Headborg.

~~ The Soiree ~~

While the heat of the moment bears down on all aboard the Elusive, tempers flair at the least prompting. Fights break out among the crew, Jeanway is edgy and fears the worst for those left behind at Borbora. " You feelin poorly are ya?" Fenriz asks Jeanway as they strolled the deck hoping for a cool breath of air. " Just needin to know something about what happened to The Bonaventure and her crew". She replied. " With all the smoke and confusion, I dare say he may not have made it outa there alive." She wrung her hands. " You still feelin a kinship to tha man, are ya?" Fenriz asked her. " Aye, I fear there is still a wee bit o me heart that stays there with him." Fenriz dropped his eyes to the deck and began to weep. " I'm truly sorry, My Love, but there are some things outa one's control." She placed her finger tips under his chin and gently raised his head. She looked him in his beautiful gray eyes and said. " The past is just that, and there it shall stay."

The Batvia, sailing alongside the Elusive, now flying the American flag, and was also having the same misery as the Elusive. Jeanway thought to herself " Maybe a soiree would lift everyone's spirits" She tied a message to the leg of one of the pigeons and hurled it out across the expanse between the two ships. After a short time, it returned. It said " Would be honored and we accept your invitation." signed Ilikeseven. As the sun began to drop in the sky, the sails were lightened on both of the ships and they stalled in the water, side by side. " Secure the Batavia" Jeanway ordered. Lines were tossed across between the two ships and a gangplank was laid down. This was the first meeting since the incident at the island. " I want to thank you for what you did for us." Ilike Seven said to Jeanway as he approached the end of the gangplank. She held out her hand and smiled at ILikeSeven. He took it and gave her a hearty handshake. Fenriz also held out his hand towards ILikeSeven and they gave each other a manly shake and a couple shoulder wacks. " Good to see ya made it outa there in one piece, we thought we'd seen the last a you." ILikeSeven smiled at them both and Jeanway invited ILikeSeven, his first officer and seska to join them at her table. Seska and Jeanway walked behind the men and began whispering as soon as they wereout of earshot. " I thought you were dead." Jeanway said to her. " AYE, I as well. afta the fiasco with the Captain of the Bonaventure, I landed in the water!" she told her. " noooo!" Jeanway answered. " how'd that com a bout?" She asked. " I donno, the man took one look at me bare breasts and flung me out tha porthole." Seska told her. " What?" Jeanway asked. " That don't sound like the Headborg I knew, he couldn't keep his hands off a me, and bein that you and I look so much alike, I'd have bet me life he'd a tried to do the same with ya." They both giggled at their obvious folly. " Well, no tellin how a mans gonna act, can ya now?" Seska replied. They all were now in the wardroom, seated and enjoying a long awaited reunion and a meal together.

" Ship on the horizon, West South West. " Cried a sailor from the crow's nest. Riker ran below and told Jeanway. She quickly got up from the table and followed him up on deck. Under the bright, full moon she could see through the telescope the outline of a ship, coming in their direction. Over the next few hours, they all finished their meal and went back up on deck to the stern and sat on chairs brought up from the mess. Knowing the French weren't coming one ship at a time, for they only travelled in small groups, a surette, in these waters. As the ship neared the Elusive off her aft deck, it was instantly recognized by all who waited there. " It's the Bonaventure, and foloowing her are two other ships, but at least a day's sail behind her". Fenriz said outloud, then looked at Jeanway to see her reaction. She looked at him for a moment, pokerfaced then back at the quickly approaching vessel. The Bonaventure, lightened her sails and came to a stop alongside the Elusive. " Secure lines was yelled by one of the sailors as they ran to secure the ship to The Elusive. Another ganglank put down, Captain Headbborg and a few of his officers came aboard. " Welcome" Jeanway said as she extended a welcoming hand. HeadBorg grabbed her hand and pulled her to him and planted a big, juicy kiss right square on Jeanway's mouth. Worf growled and Fenriz immediately pulled her away from him, and pushed the exhausted HeadBorg away from her. HeadBorg fell backwards over a barrel and bounced right back up at Fenriz. " You keep your hands off her." Fenriz said in a loud voice, again Worf tried to interveen and Fenriz motioned him to stay back, as the two angry men approached each other. HeadBorg tackled him to the deck and they began punching each other. " I don't like you!" HeadBorg yelled as he pummeled Fenriz. " I don't like you either Fenriz yelled as he gave a quick uppercut to Headborg's jaw as he had him pinned to the deck. HeadBorg went flying across the deck and landed head first in a large coil of rope. His head buried Fenriz came up in back of him and grabbed his feet an dragged him out of his entanglement. HeadBorg jumped up and the two went around and around like this for quite a while. Jeanway, now disgusted with this obvious display of male posturing said. " Well, Good Night you two, have fun, I'll see you in the morrow." HeadBorg and Fenriz still duely involved in their own little soiree, took no notice and continued fighting. Jeanway and Seska, went below the Jeanway's quarters, laughing and giggleling over this. " They do seem to be enjoying themselves, don't they. Jeanway asked Seska holding back a laugh. " Aye, they dooo" Seska answered with a smile. " ahh, the whirling Dervishes, let em whirl" Jeanway added.

...........................The next morning

Jeanway and Seska had spent the rest of the night in her cabin. Smoking fine Cuban cigars a gift from Captain nik, and sipping French Congac. Telling off-color stories about the men in their pasts. Seska returned to the Batavia, and ILikeSeven a few hours before dawn. Up on deck, Jeanway surveyed the wreckage from the night before. HeadBorg and Fenriz sleeping in a pile of sails next to the pigeon's cage. Huddled together, either asleep or unconcious, they were still throwing punches and shouting obscenities at each other in their dreams. Jeanway just smiled and covered their bruised and bleeding bodies with another sail, then called for the Doc to come and take a look at them both. " Doc, Hey Doc, where are you? Anyone seen DocNiel around?"

....that morning

I awoke as WEAREBORG pulled me up from the deck of the Elusive and began to help me on board the small launch to row us back to the Bonaventure. He and the English Merchantman had pulled up sometime in the night.

"Easy Son." I exclaimed as he drug me to my feet. He gave me a strange glance and I knew what it was. I returned the glance...adding "figure of speech, Lad. But I've been meaning to ask you....tell me what you know of your Mother and Father? are they living? I winced in pain, and he noticed.

"Give you a good working over, did he, old man." Weareborg chuckled as he ordered the sailor to "heave to" toward the Bonaventure.

"That's the trouble when you have to fight to hurt, and can't just kill 'em out right." I replied. "He kicked like a mule, and bit like a crocodile!"

I don't know anything about my parents. All I know was that I was taken from them by pirates. Sounds like the Pirates of Penzence doesn't it?

SolarWind sees that things between her young prodigy and his long, lost father are happening, as they should and smiles down on them. Conjuring up a cool breeze for her friends to help them through ' The Doldrums'. " Tell him" she whispers in HeadBorg's ear. Then she disappears in a cool mist. :(

~~ It's Written on the Wind ~~

" Father, where are you?" Jeanway said in her sleep. " I need you." She woke with a start. "eeewww wheesh" She spewed. Sweat dripping off of her forehead. She got up from her sling, opened the top of her nightgown and splashed cold water on her neck and face at the commode. "I need a drink." She said to herself. She opened her cabin door, grabbed her robe and walked to the galley, just down the passageway. Lwxana was still there, peeling potatos for the next morning. " Up sort of late aren't you? Jeanway asked her. " I can't sleep in this heat, I may as well be workin." Lwxana answered. " Aye, I know what you mean, it's beastly isn't it? Is there anything in here to drink?" Jeanway asked " Only water for now til we pull into the next port where we can get some provisions, the men have been thirsty as dogs Ma'am." Lwxana said. " We need to get to land soon, we do need to restock the galley and the stores as soon as possible." The provisions Captain nik provided the Elusive before he sank were all but gone. Jeanway went back to her quarters with a tall glass of warm water. Sat at her desk and started examining a map with a magnifying glass by candle light.

I was just lying in my bed when seska knocked at the door.

"enter" i said, she started to stotter al little,

"o my love" she said" i have to confess you something...............

I started to yell and to scream at her when she told me the whole story, the deception, the cardgame, and how she got in the water.

Whe i calmed down she sat scared in a corner of my quarter, all shaking and crying

It is better that you leave me now, go to the Elusive and stay there and do it fast, take you belongings and GO!! before i change my mind and throug you overboard, Seska cried as she packed her things and left.

I was furious, and hit with fist my on the table, i took a bottle of rum and started to drink it, i sat down and heard how she cried as she walkes the stairs.

after 2 bottles of rum i was calmed down, and went to bed....crying

~~ Payin the Piper ~~

Jeanway heard crying coming from the passageway and then a knock on her cabin door. She opened it. "What's wrong dear?" She asked Seska as she put her arm around her shoulder and Seska fell into Jeanways arms, sobbing. " I was wrong, I was So wrong. I DO love Ilikeseven, and now I fear it is too late for I have deceived him and he is crushed." Seska blurted out in a shower of tears, soaking Jeanways shoulder. Jeanway brought Seska over to the chair, sat her down and proceeded to pull out the bottle of Congac she had stashed in her desk drawer. She poured her a small snifter and handed it to her. " Here, drink this and then let's see if we can fix all the wrong we've done to this poor fellow." She said as she handed it to her. Seska continued to sob and bellow, sipping her drink. Jeanway paced the floor in front of her, rubbing her forehead with her hand as she tried to think. " Look" She began. She kneeled down in front of Seska and looked up at her, resting her hands on seska's lap. " Just give him a little time. I know he loves you and may be able to forgive you, but there's no use in trying to talk to him now, just stay here with me and wait to see if he comes looking for you." Seska agreed to this and took to the small berth in the corner and sobbed herself to sleep.
