*does a happy dance*

Tommy Salo was traded! Tommy Salo was traded!

It's about time! He is a slacker. He is given way too much credit. I'm glad to see him leave. Fresh blood.

So, my fellow hockey fans. What are your takes on this year's deadline deals? From the prospective of my favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, this was a good deadline. They acquired a big name defensemen in Brain Leetch and signed another experinced veteran in Calle Johanssen. They also traded for one of the classiest players in the NHL and best face-off men in the league, Ron Francis and they added depth with Chad Kilger. I think that these moves will put the Leafs into an even better position to compete for the Stanley Cup.

So, what are your reactions to what your favourite team did?

Well, I hope Sergei Gonchar and Anson Carter hadn't finished unpacking from their last trade.

Some very interesting trades but also a lot of "who the hell is that?" trades as well.

I guess we'll have to wait see who the winners and losers are.

I can see what you meant about Carter but not Gonchar. That's the first time he was ever traded. There were some pretty heavy rumours about him coming to Toronto but he ended up in Boston. I think in the long run, Brian Leetch is a better fit for Toronto.
