  1. I HATED no DETESTED that awful song - they should never have used - Luckily for me I recorded ENT when it was on as I was at the gym (exercise good, laziness bad) and each time I watched I fast forwarded it.

I cant imagine anyone liking it - it was a horrible idea - no wonder fans turned off in their droves !!

  2. May be a break for Trek in general would be good - I'm not sure if you are aware but here in UK we had a science fiction series - Dr Who - which took a long break from our screens approx 10 - 15 years and it has returned to rave reviews and fantastic veiwing figures.

Perhaps in a few years after a haitus Trek may return - but bear in mind - there have been 4 incarnations and 10 films - there may not be an original story out there - remember Nemesis was just a compilation of the best of Trek.

  3. Speaking as a London resident, working not far from Aldgate itself, I found the whole thing scarey and just a little bit frightening.

In all of this one has to remember that terrorists will try and destroy our way of life and that we must never surrender those freedoms we hold dear to us - I am at work today and will continue to work - sending a message to these people London is our city - we will not be frightened from it by these horrific attacks. This is our city not theirs to destroy.

  4. I have to be honest I did not like Seasons 1 and 2 of Enterprise and did not rate them highly at all - the writing was poor and Archer did not appeal to me as a leader - something ST has always had was strong leaders (Kirk/Picard/Sisko eventually/Janeway almost) - when Season 3 came out I had my worries - in the old chatroom on Startrek.com - opinions were mixed to say the least - then Season 3 came and I was blown away - there was a sense of urgency that the first 2 seasons lacked - my only regret was that they could not stretch the stoyline of Season 3 into Season 4 - instead they returned to The Temporal Cold War - which I never understood or received an adequate explanation of - I hope they change their minds - at the end of Season 3 I felt it done enough to save itself - please reconsider it is a good show

  5. Spocks - need I say more ?

It was well written and a highly emotionally charged scene - something some of the others (Data's included) lacked with the exception being Lal's.

Sometimes it no use trying to replicate it in a shallow carbon copy (Nemesis) when the original is so good

Also it made me cry - something the others didn't - Lal's just made me sad for the loss of one so young. :waaaa:  :look:  :)

  6. The one key important failing of Enterprise has always been that no matter how bad things get for the crew and the fledgling Federation things will always work themseleves out in the end as there would be not TOS/TNG/DS9/VOY and hence it makes all their efforts rather redundant since we all know what will happen in the end anyway.

The plot line and premise for Enterprise was always rather pointless as it was a bit like knowing the ending of a book before you 've even started reading it.

I always thought like many others that the New Frontier series of books written by Peter David would have made a far better TV series than the first 2 seasons of Enterprise - lets be honest it only came to life in Season 3 when they entered the Delphic Expanse - somewhere that was not mentioned in any of the other 4 versions of Star Trek. At the moment that seems to be Enterprises best hope to go where no other Star Trek series has gone before ( :o :wow:

P.S. The best way to destroy the Federation would be to prevent the conference that would take place between Earth, Vulcan and Andor which resulted in the formation of the Federation - a little divide and conquer perhaps ?

  7. I have given it a lot of thought - I just dont think there is the possiblity of another TNG film after 7 seasons and 4 films - there are just no plot ideas left.

As regards one of the other series - I would favour DS9 or VOY as both have potential film-wise.

Unfortunately the TNG has had its day - pity it had to end on the worst film of the lot - Nemesis.

Maybe they'll get it right next time :laugh:

  8. As regards VOY DVD box sets - I will NOT be buying them at all

I hated the show and have yet to find an episode I actually liked

As regards the DS9 box sets I found that the region 2 United Kingdom packaging was nicer than what was available in the US/Canada - perhaps europeans liked DS9 more than the Americans/Canadians

  9. I myself am an occasional ENT basher - lord knows I did a lot during the first two seasons of ENT - to me Archer was uninspiring as a leader - he lacked Kirks directness and Picards intelligence - and as a result the show has suffered because there is no Spock or McCoy or Data/Troi/Riker etc to carry a weak member of the cast.

Ever since they have entered the Delphic Expanse though things are slightly different I actually look forward to it but I do have some questions - Who are the Xindi why is it there is no mention of them prior to this and why doesn't Archer just go to Ensign Daniel's quarters and pick it apart - there is bound to information there that will be useful.

They still need to make Archer more of a leader - even though he is in uncharted territory - he is a leader of men and must lead by example - not by what seems like dithering.

There is room for improvement but it needs time and it would seem UPN's patience is running low especially as viewing figures appear to be poorer than expected.

  10. I am an out and out OPEN fan of Star Trek be it my collection of Trading cards which is 1000+ or the DVD collections of TOS/TNG/DS9 - everyone that visits my house knows a trek fan lives there - pictures of Trek etc.

I am well known at work for discussing the last episode of Enterprise I watched as well as wondering in general whats happening to Trek

  11. I cant help but think that the explanation regarding the Xindi is a more simplistic one concerning the birth of the federation as we know it - perhaps a lasting peace between the Xindi and the Earth/Vulcan/Andoran alliance is crucial to the formation of the United Federation of Planets.

At the moment, I cant help but notice that much is being done in the past to prevent all the races involved from forming any kind of federation/trading bloc.

Perhaps Archer at the moment has no knowledge of his role but maybe at some time in the future may he may forge a lasting peace that results in the formation of the UFP.
