  1. I have given it a nine and below in spoilers is why.

I am glad I had my box of tissues with me I needed them not only the end of a series but the end of an era. Trek has been on or we have been awaiting the start of a new series since I was 12 in 1988 when I saw the first TNG episode. I will really miss it my love of Trek in all forms has got me through a lot of rough times.

Here is what I thought of "These are the voyages"

Overall I enjoyed the episode there were a few things that I didn't like but lots that I did.

I really liked the references to the other incarnations of Star Trek e.g. when Trip and Malcolm said "all good things must come to an end". "All good things" being the title of the final TNG episode. Also when Trip and Archer made a toast to "the next generation".

I liked how it ended with the beginning of the federation.

I really loved the last sequence especially as Archer got to say "to boldly go where no man has gone before" it made me cry. I think that, that sequence alone was a stroke of genius. I was tapping the show to watch again and I had to rewind and watch that bit again straight away.

    Did not like as much

My biggest thing is that they killed Trip, it was really mean. I love the character and the fact that they killed off one of my favourite characters and it's the last ever episode just seemed mean. It was bad enough that it was the last episode without killing him.

I didn't think that enough time was taken over it everyone seemed to just carry on about their business and not mourn for him. I have this hope that someday Enterprise will return and Enterprise without Trip Tucker just won't be Enterprise.

The final thing is that I really wanted to hear Archers speech and when it went off I felt a bit short changed.

These are just minor quibbles though, I loved the final episode, I loved Enterprise and I always will.

  2. I couldn't believe it when I turned on the TV yesterday morning. Only a few hours earlier we had been celebrating the olympic win.

This morning they say at least 37 people have died and 700 are injured, they think that the number of fatalities will rise. There are still families that have not heard from their loved ones. I can not begin to imagine what the families of the dead, injured or missing are feeling.

My heart goes out to the people who were involved and their families.

  3. The thing that made TNG so special for me was the crew.

I loved the way the characters interacted, the way they solved problems as a team, the humor they had.

I enjoyed watching friendships develop, when they started out most of them were just colleagues but by the end they were true friends who would give their lives for each other not just because it was their duty but because they truly cared about each other.

The TNG crew really did become like family not just with each other but I feel the writers made the viewer feel part of the family too. Just excellent.
